I hate to say this, but wat u have posted really reflected badly on the level of ur maturity level. And again i hate to say this, these are the posts that is going to invite flames in this forum.

What we are discussing here is the way to improve the general well-being of our forum, and here u are trying to be a smart alex and playing punk over here.

Please respect the threadstarter and post relevant things as accordance to the thread "Rating for each post & user"

Sometime its already freaking laggy already , if include this and that function makes the forum a "slightly" better place but at the same time LAG our balls out of it then seriously speaking what is the point ? Frankly speaking why care about others OT , TCSS ....etc ? Dont like dont read , u are not paying anything to lose anything

Now if you want to play the holier than thou moral high ground thing as you have, you'll just ignore me. You don't rate me, I don't rate you. Which brings us back to the BnS rating system. People don't award bad ratings cos the other person can and will do like wise.

Anyway, did you notice that tiny red button next to each post? That's for bad posts. So pls, if you feel what I say "invites flames" or is "OT", feel free to bring it up with the mods. That's what it's for.

So you see, there's already a system in place to deal with OT posts. Use it.

We have thought about the idea of implementing the Reputation system, but as Wai has pointed out, several forums had implemented, then removed the feature as it was abused.

There are, however, different ways that we can implement the system to ensure that it is not overly abused. We can re-look into this again to see if we can trial the Reputation system to ascertain if it will benefit ClubSNAP as a whole.

A suggestion. How about a special ranking given to a select few photographers who are of a certain standard? Decided by the moderators and subjected to the acceptance of the photog.

Example, Geoff Ang just joined Clubsnap. Personally I never heard of him but seeing the reactions in his virgin posts, I now know he is an acclaimed photographer. We can give such members a special rank so that amateurs like me will know his/her background and thus put more weight into his/her comments. Seriously, if I never read the thread in the newbie forum, I would think Geoff Ang is just another many amateur photog in CS.

Such a system will not be abused as the decision to confer the rank is not based on public vote. It will not place any additional load on CS as it is just a different rank.

Most people can be pretty cautious about their reputations. Trust me on this.

you're right, and as such, if there's such a system, i'll stop posting opinions and giving critiques. most may be able to see it in good light, but the few that don't i get slack from poor ratings, wat for? reputation is more impt than a "stranger's" image that i want to comment on.

had a customer say they have a friend who say he sees my photos in clubsnap and that they are lousy, cos i use too much photoshop.

so i asked the customer why they still decided to meet me. they say becos they like wat they see. i said but it's got photoshop how? they say photoshop makes me look better i dun mind! lol..

anywayz.. kaoz.. off topic liow, but generally, the grapevine (hence reputation) is one of the most powerful means of communication.

i don't need another "system" where someone who has never seen, heard of or spoken to me saying "he got a lousy rating in CS" so he must suck... :bsmilie: and i sure as hell not gonna try to be politically correct just becos i want a higher rating.

Mods: maybe we could follow www.arofanatics.com forums style. what they did was every forumer started out with 10 points reputation, and if the fellow clubsnappers feel that a post that they made is valid and great for the community, the rest can click on his reputation button to up his reputation.

every clubsnapper can only up once in 24hrs, thus u can be assured that those that got their reputation upped, deserves it.

But on the other hand, those that post OT post or junk or sarcastic nonsense post can be "downed" by other clubsnappers, meaning the clubsnappers can click on his reputation button to down his reputation. There is no worry about abuse of this system whereby a person keep downing someone's reputation because one can only up/down a person once in 24hrs.

For those that got their reputation downed to perhaps -10, should be banned from clubsnap, as the manner the person post is in a abusive manner that is disrupting the harmony in clubsnap. In a way, it works something like the Buy and Sell rating.

And trust me on this, after arofanatics implemented this, the community has been posting all sorts of helpful and heart warming post, and in fact those junk rubbish are a rare sight.

i believe it is a system worth trying out in a bid to help improve clubsnap. Cheers.

The problem I see with this system is that the troublemakers have a large groups of cronies that they will ask to up their reputations on their behalf and down those of the people that criticise their actions.

You have to nip the problem in the bud by banning those problem individuals permanently and not allowing them to re-register under similar nicks. Also the Admin and Mods have done this a week ago, these troublemakers seem to have reappeared. I'm sorry to say this but allowing them to make a come back makes a mockery of the de-registeration in the first place and makes the Administration look weak.

These bullies are only as strong as their head. Cut the head off and the rest will tow the line.

Tetrode, old habits die hard, some people can't seem to change. Just add them to your ignore list meanwhile (like i've done so) and move on.

just tag the rating wrt to the post involved. so even if 100 person isn't happy with the post you made doesn't make your rating down 100 points. if it all points to the same post, it'll only drop by 1 point. If you think the post was ok but got whacked for no reason there's always a appeal for you to explain. same goes for adding points, it got to be tagged to the post made

some boh liao people might haunt a certain member and starting digging up all the latter's previous posts and rank everything as bad posts, then how? you can't expect the moderator to moderate every single post that's rated bad then right?
