Thanks Kev!..
I flew to UK, got my shot and took the next flight home yesterday :bsmilie::bsmilie:
This was at Chek Jawa boardwalk, Pulau Ubin..

Eh izit?..I thought I 'toned' it down oredi  must review again..

Actually I find the horizon okay for this. The earlier one was really, too strong.

but hor... he commented in post #324 about the horizon, and I think that one is quite faint already. Seems like the minimalist style is to blend horizon into sky? Correct me if I'm wrong. Just what I gathered from browsing through some photos.

That one (#95) is a different problem, I think. He didn't mention it was too strong, and I suspect the problem is the horizon line is not horizontally straight through the entire pic (there are bumps here and there). At least that's what I noticed from Zul's pics.

It was pic 94 that he mentioned "the 'line' on the horizon is too strong" which I also think so.

In #99, Zul's latest pic, he has rectified both of these problems.

To add on my personal comments, #99 has more balanced thought through for the photo (in my opinion) - by positioning the camera more to the left side of the walkway. r00ki3 definitely does not deserve his r00ki3 title anymore ;)

LeBron James was also a r00ki3 when he blitzed the NBA some years back... :D
so there's no harm in remaining a r00ki3, a really good one at that! ;)

didn't Tiger Woods win the US Masters in his r00ki3 year??

Yup #95(324) was ok but it was not done cleanly. That was one tough horizon to tackle and I did it shoddily. I was all over the place with that horizon, but with Thomas' hints and tips after that, now i roughly know what and how it supposed to be done and put my attention to :)

Kev it doesn't have to be so all the time, as long as the gradient is not too abrupt and too strong I think:

Thanks for clarifying on my behalf Bern..You can put it in words better than me.If not I don't know how to explain this hehehe...

Yup I did on #99 but maybe I can rectify it a bit more..

wa you are too kind la..thanks Bern..but I prefer to be one..sounds cool hahaha...

Bro don't compare me until like dat lei..paisey man..I'm just trying to improve and produce something nice like you guys and others in here do.But more importantly I enjoy doing it and going through the process of all..It's a passionate hobby..Once the enjoyment is gone..everything else does too..

Bros, thanks for the encouragement :)

This is good Zul but can be improve further!

Am seeing that having the entrance of jetty placed on the left with having the jetty end at the middle of the horizon gives more pleasant view and nice leading line.

Well, I have to say this that ur horizon still need attention as below:

1: the small clouds formation is abruptly cropped at middle right
2: viewing it large and I notice that there is 2 faint lines due to gaussian blur applied. What is your setting? Maybe a radius of 5 pixel for it will do just good

Its good to take time to enjoy this kind of work with zooming in details, 150~200%.

Yes..I tried that but if I remember correctly I did not have proper 'anchorage' for the tripod if I moved more to my right. There was a tree blocking on the right and if I position myself more to the front I would end up below the slope hehe..but I want to go back again, this time take more time to really observe and assess the whole situation.Anything is possible.I know you will be able to as what you have pointed out :)

Wow you noticed it!...
1. It was :embrass:
2. I Think i pushed it to about 10-15..I overdid yes?..I thought less than 10 will still make the horizon too strong, so I pushed it more...

Yes maybe I was rushing myself through the whole process.. I should have taken more time scrutinising my pic and see where it can go wrong...

Thanks Thomas for pointing these out to me..and thank you for always pointing the minute details which I need to pay attention to..You have been one patient 'teacher' man..I hope I'm not a bad 'student'. And I hope I improve and heed your pointers with every shot I take..
Thanks again!

Took the advice to try this in black&white. So here goes :
