I went to funan during lunch to get my prime lens, and somehow I'm not sure how or why, I came back with a canon 550D !

Going for a trip to Taiwan, and when waiting for boarding on Terminal 3 Changi, just pass by the Sony shop there. I'm not remember how, on the plane I found a A350 with me, and my NETS deducted

I just hope you can endure this itch and not sell it off within 2 weeks as I did.

More goodies are coming out from many brands in the next few months, I am not sure how my brain and wallet can endure all these.

why get a A350 ? should get a A850 or A900 with a SAL1635, i am sure very good for your landscape shots in Taiwan :thumbsup:

Wait till u see the ISO of A55, NEX5 and A550, which all of them does better than A33.

Yes, even I am surprised. ISO800 seems to be the max A33 can go if you do not want visible noise.

However, after trying some test shots of A55, it seems to be on par with NEX5....that's already a feat since A33/55 has to bump up the sensitivity of the sensor at least 1/3 stops higher for the same exposure, meaning to say ISO1600 of A55 is actually ISO2000 or so if compared to NEX on same exposure.

However, noise is one thing, I do notice A33 seems to retain better details...probably this is the compromise JPEG engine has. Either clean or detailed....

its ok bro likw they say it depends on what you need , And yes the shop is normally well lit hope you'll enjoy your new toy atleast now you can compare Sony vs Canon in terms of noise, color and features. I think 550D is not bad it's one of the camera also before I was eyeing when it was newly launch but the price puts me off then...

Now A55 is here I am waiting for fellow CSer to have thier own personal review and see how it goes...

But you will soon realize that that is the only lens that is cheaper and every other lens is more expensive than a comparable Sony lens (dun talk and CZs). I think I could understand TS situation at the moment of trying out the Canon 550D hehe I was almost posion. The ergonamics of 550D is very good compare to A330. And lastly the reslae value of Canon or Nikon is very good, I think the TS is not really a hardcore photo hobbyst just want to use if for everyay family photo....

Anyways like we always say as long you're happy all camera are good regardless of brand bottom line we are happy and satisfied

I got it for about $1280 ish. Not too sure as I added like $40 to $50 to pay via credit card installment. (one lump sum go out my husband will be able to see heehee )

Actually cannot, because I had to come clean with my stupid stunt with my husband yesterday as he did not want to sell the A330 as he don't see why need to sell it. So had to tell him I already got another camera so must sell. I promised him I won't do it again. :embrass:

My solution for you:

Keep the a330 so that your Hubby can shoot while you're doing the same with the 550d !

When we go on family outings, I'll shoot with the a500 while my wife will use the recently aquired a55. :lovegrin: ...family bonding is when you don't have to fight over who get to do the shooting with only one camera ! :devil:

Thats what i am planning to do also get another body and maybe share lenses. My kids are getting interested in photography after they saw some of my shots... They keep on asking me to teach them...

But budget is a bit tight must get approval from my finance misnister before spending starts

Hehe it's ok since you manage to get bak some of the money you've invested in your new DSLR shouldnt be much a problem

One advice if you want to visit any camera shop make you you have decided what you going to buy dont go if you're not so sure what you're buying coz you'll end up buying on impulse. I never go window shopping for electronics stuff it's too much of a temptation and my temptation level is pretty low can easily over come...

Just buy till u drop and buy every models that come out and try every single lenses...

One thing I am worried in the future or as A33/A55 getting old that translucent mirror becomes less transulent... and you must treat that mirror like a sensor can't just anyhow clean it with ordinary cleaning material etc nor use any cleaning solution that may damage the translucent finish of the mirror..... In the normal DSLR you can live even your mirror is dirty and full of dust as that will only affect you OVF but with SLT it important to keep it clean as it will affect the light reaching your sensor and your EVF

I just read this comment in another forum also.That person commented it may happen after 2-3 years of usage and may translucent mirror need to be replaced .I do not know how true is that...Any other comment on this???

Do u ever think that u have to lift up the mirror to blow the dust away?Can u tell me how r u u going lift up the translucent mirror,as it is very brittle and hard to manage,it is not going to be easy as well,if u miss it the lift the mirror might break. That is the wonder and I'm still pondering over........It is unlike our present cam that can just lift up by pressing the button.Those who have the camera would like to correct me if i'm wrong.
