Quick ! Stop the BBB virus from affecting me !

chey.. ! small crap... like that u call BBB virus !? wait until u got a Full Frame body.. then u will know what is BBB virus.

There is no end of pursuing new cameras, models after models coming out so fast, that doesn't make your picture more pro or better, stick with ur cam and improve with ur pictures,go for better lenses rather than the body.Do not follow my foot step.:D

if you dont need HD video and faster burst mode stick with your current cam if you compare the two IQ and main spec you might not see much difference other than A33/A55 faster burst mode but this due to it's design no more mirror flapping.

But was reading the A33 user feedback it has some negatives also like

Shorter battery life due to it's using EVF than OVF
Its over heats faster than other Alpha specially during vid mode
During burst mode LCD/EVF stay blank/off so you cant really track what you shooting.

and what other bros said this A33/A55 series is new category so it should not replace the A3XX/A5XX series. Like I mention A33/A55 should have the same main spec as A3XX and A5XX

but if you're not happen with your A330 and waht to poison your self more go to sony show room and get a feel of A33 before you decide to buy it

wow am really thankful for you pointing out all these issues !!

I am happy with my A330, but you know it's always nice to get something newer and shinier :D

that i agree~ but all products will have their issues that people'll always gripe about. HAHA. A55~~

new and shiny things are always attractive. but when it comes to equipment, it's how you use it.

take motorcycles for example.. you can buy the fastest bike, but if you don't know how to ride properly, do cornering and stay safe on the road, then it's quite unsafe. if you're a skilled rider, even on a slow Vespa u can do all the things a pro can.

having a camera is the same~ if you buy the best camera, it doesn't guarantee perfect and great shots all the time. what i would advise is, play around with the A330, try out more lenses and improve your skill....

...THEN when the A77 comes out.... BBB! ;p

yes I am still practicing with my A330 although mostly taking indoor shots of my son.
just read a review of the A33, although it really does have quite a few fanciful features like the EVF, fast continuous shooting, auto HDR, it has drawback. Only 70% of the light reaches the sensor. Won't that means that I have to increase my iso or decrease my shutter speed to compensate ?

70% is equivalent to .3 stop only you can try it shoot in manual mode take two photos one EV at 0 the other EV at -.3 then compare... cant see much difference maybe indoor can see outdoor normally to me I underexpose my shot up to -1...

There's a technique called exposing to the right ... this mean you intentionally underexposing your shot to make the dark area even more pronounce and adding mode depth to it.

Anyways back to 70% light things... I think the A33/A55 processor/algorithm has already been hardcoded to compensate for the 0.3 lost of light...

One thing I am worried in the future or as A33/A55 getting old that tranlucent mirror becomes less transulent... and you must treat that mirror like a sensor can't just anyhow clean it with ordinary cleaning material etc nor use any cleaning solution that may damage the translucent finish of the mirror..... In thenormal DSLR you can live even your mirror is dirty and full of dust as that will only affect you OVF but with SLT it important to keep it clean as it will affect the light reaching your sensor and your EVF :)

so there you go another reason to stay away from A33/A55 lols

But I still suggest that you try out the A33/A55 with all its issue/problem I think it still a fun good cam and feature rich. :)

Yes a good photographer can take a very good shot using a low end DSLR.... you must know the proper technique like framing, angle, lighting, composition and also must let your artistic nature take it course.... there are time you may need to kneel down look up lay down to take a good shot :) I read one article it say when yu want to take a photo of something you may want to inpect it 1st look at it in different angles or different time of day

Photography is all about angle, lights, timing, location and the most important your mind set! try taking pictures when you're feeling sad, happy or angry you'll notice your photos are different the tone, the angles the color etc... I just hope you wont throw your cam when you're angry hehehe

And lastly try to invest in lens rather than body ^_^ (hehehe another BBB virus lols) sorry bro if I am poisoning you more....

no worries ! this all started because I was intending to get a 50mm f1.8 lens since its such a cheap prime lens.

I think I should just get the lens and take my photos. Even if one day I were to upgrade I can still use my lens :D

Get the lens you want and be at peace. ;)

As usual every year, photo enthusiast and pro alike then to follow the Photokina show where all camera makers will show off or announce future development for their brands and it starts today.

You can follow this event at those sites like dpreview. Some Pro Alpha mount sites like Photoclubalpha also sent their guys there. Already they have started some stuff on it here.

Don't let yourself get caught again the next time you buy a camera. Be updated. Only then decide the need to upgrade or worst case jump ship if other brands offers a better road map.

I think 50mm f1.8 is a good lens... I have a manual 50mm f1.8 and I am loving it specially for portraits and good bokeh :) and it's very cheap also hehehe

We are not pro or ppl who earns from photography for us to invest on very expenssive lens. If you're like me just a hobbyst taking photo just to unwind from a very busy and stressful week at work then maybe a decent grade lens should do...

Currently I am using Oly as I am still waiting for A55 to complement my E-620. Here's my lens setup

14-54mm (high grade lens)
40-150mm (Kit Lens)<<-- or this could be upgraded to 50-200mm high grade lens
50mm f1.8 (manual)<<-- planning to get AF 50mm f2

what i am missing is UWA (ultra wide Angle) I am eyeing 9-18mm

So when I get my A55 I might get some good lens also

1. UWA
2. mid tele
3. long tele
4.one portrait lens :)

oh man this sucks ! where to find money to keep up ???

I want the new one !! Although there is nothing wrong with my A330 :P

I'm thinking of getting the Sony 50mm f1.8 for indoor shots of my baby, any thoughts? Good choice bad choice?
At least I can still use it if I get the A33, but at this rate I think I should stick with my A330 until I become a pro then make a jump to a more pro camera

I hate those sexy product videos!

No regrets on 50mm F1.8. It's a good buy for me personally. U should stick to ur A330 and familiarise it first la. BTW, if u have more to spare, u might want to get the sony latest 35mm F1.8. It's about 100+ more.

I also just upgraded recently. I was thinking of A33 or A550. I choose A550 because

1. Much much much longer battery life.
2. I do not need video
3. Size of body does not matters to me
4. Weight also don't really matters much
5. Most of the time i shoot in live view, so the EVF is not really useful.
6. A550 is cheaper than A33

If it is full frame body and i can't afford it, no matter how strong this BBB virus is, i wont get affected.

BBB virus only affects us within our own range. ;)

Thats always happens when you are overwhelmed and wallet itchy.

I just hope you can endure this itch and not sell it off within 2 weeks as I did.

More goodies are coming out from many brands in the next few months, I am not sure how my brain and wallet can endure all these.
