nice mini-review there.
would like to ask, what's the max height of the monopod? if it's just the leg's length, seems rather short to use yea?
i went down to TK foto for a look this afternoon and then went to take a look at benro's. really wat you pay wat you get!
both are sturdy but the build is diff!
i cannot comment on the build when it is on mount. the personal feeling is that the build is better compare to benro. but if on actually usage, it may diff. I dun wish to start a flame here but this is wat i feel. you can go test both and see for yourselfdo u mean to say that sirui is a better tripod built than benro?

imho, this tripod is really value for money.
btw wad does th 6yrs warranty cover? btw is there any models that has a lower max load. Cause im using a 500d and a 15-85 currently. dont really need the 10kg load. considering this over manfrotto cx3
Finally went down to check out the N1204 at TK. I must say I am very impressed by it. The ability to convert to monopod is very creative. The 8x fibre carbon, quick lock, foldable length is comparable to Gitzo. Somehow I feel my Gitzo has a slightly better quality feel to it (maybe it is psychological with all things Made in China). However, the free tripod bag, short center column, tripod sling, warm sleeve makes it very good value for money.
BTW, I bought it. Another impressed customer of Sirui.
For double the price of the sirui and for slightly better quality...that's what pushed me over to sirui. And what's more for the savings, i got the markins plus RRS plate!
Congrats on your purchase!
Are the Sirui QR plates available separately?
I bought the SIRUI T-1204 with G-10 head to use with my LUMIX GF-1.
The LUMIX GF-1 tripod mounting screw bush protrude fractionally
above the camera body base. As such, the SIRUI quick mount plate
which has an almost flat thin rubber is very difficult to be tightened.
I had to gum a piece of cork sheet material (TK's Richard recommended
a bicycle inner tube rubber material) to the mounting plate to obtain a
tight mount. I used the Allen Key supplied to tighten the quick mount
plate as I do not intend to remove the plate in the field.
The camera battery compartment can be opened without
removing the SIRUI mounting plate from the camera.
People using the original LUMIX 45-200 lens should be careful as wrong
installation of the quick mount plate can damage the lens. The lens
body is lower than the camera base, that's why PANASONIC sells
a spacer adaptor.
