hi guys, i wish to purchase a gitzo tripod and head for landscaping shots...anyone can recommend some models of gitzo? I'm pretty ok with the budget :)..currently using 400d but gonna upgrade to a FF canon soon..

You can try the Explorer. Coupled with an Acratech ballhead, I have found it to be very versatile in achieving almost shot angle plus provide me with a stable base on any terrain. This combo is so versatile that you will probably find it handy to have a spirit-leveler in your bag.

i was looking for a 1541T but the height ain't what i wanted. so i got a 1541 instead with a Q3 head + wimberly plate.

What is the max weight of your combo that you will use on your tripod? If your setup is just a WA lens + FF body, you can consider the Gitzo 1541/1541T. Anything heavier than that combo, a carbon fibre Gitzo 2 series would be your best bet. (entire range viewable at Gitzo.com)

For head, I would recommend either the Markins Q3 or M10. (the former if you are using 1541/1541T or for travel purposes).

That's a really sexy combo! With the new upgrades from the older model, Gitzo has really beefed up the weight (1kg) : weight bearing (8kg) ratio of this tripod tremendously! Good buy.
