i believe bermudas is ok, they actually put the dress-code as smart casual, but i think as long as you don't come in singlet, shorts and slippers, there should not be too much of a problem. i'll be wearing polo and cargo pants anyway (for me cargo pants easier to do kneeling positions when shooting )

business is at best poor during weekdays lor, as far as i can see, not sure about weekends though, the ladyboss actually tell me to reserve table for weekend, but see how lah, don't think it's gonna be that crowded ... she said they serve sri lanka crabs too! *drooooooool* but jialak ... that means cannot shoot when eating, because hands will be very dirty ;p :bsmilie:

Shoot first, eat later. Actually you can tell the lady boss that you are organiser of club activitoes and ask her for some special rate or kickback, which you can then pass the savings back to the participants.

Maybe can use the PNPC name and namecard, hotspots what do you think.
Or maybe a portion of the savings can go into a fund to equip a studio or darkroom at the PNPC.

Anyone know the rough estimate of funds required to set up a really basic studio (like 2 x 500w strobes with softbox/umbrella, 3-color black/white/grey backdrop, reflector, light meter )?

Rough estimate is about $3000 - $5000. How about buying 2nd hand.
You forgot the sync cord or wireless sync. Reflector can be made, don't need to buy.
If you set up the studio. I can donate my diy reflectors. BTW don't need black bg.
White and gray will do. If you want black, then don't light the bg - duh....
Maybe a table top setup first.

Set up a seperate tread for this.
