Sounds like a lovely idea.

Would love to join, but simply too early for me, don't think I can catch a bus or train to reach at 0650.

i am a night owl, so I sleep around 7am , look like i am gonna miss this shoot again..

cool picture of your place there, haha ... btw that's not the drain, that's the seawater dividing Coney Island from Punggol ... the drain is a little infront, much smaller in size, not easy to find in this picture but if you focus your eyes abit can see very little of it.

oic..i wonder if it is possible to go to the possible side of the river, u can see some houses there but they are gone now...wonder if those are illegal settlement. :think:

back in school days, i used to canoe to coney island and spend a night there, at that time the whole place was a forest like that, but now u can only see buildings

the opposite side of the river is a landfill area, i don't think it can be accessed easily ... the 'hill' you see over the river from some places is actually a mega heap of soil left there for construction/reclamation purpose, but left there too long now looks like a natural hill :bsmilie: the houses you are talking about are living quarters for construction workers, quite a number still around, nothing too special though ...

come join in this saturday's shoot lah, you'll discover that this area hasn't really lost all the natural charm

how long will the outing last? need to pop over to Bukit Timah by 9am for trekking and nature shoot.

we are getting quite a following, the sun will start to rise around 0650hrs, I will be at the drain, but you are free to go to the riverside to shoot the sunrise, browse the other tread for sample pictures.

hi everyone, got a chance to walk over to sungei punggol for a look during late afternoon, great setting for sunset ... there's a long concrete drain (newly built) leading out to the riverside from the new main road (the road running North-South parallel to the lrt line west of Punggol Mrt) ... took a few pics but haven't develop them. can actually get a view of the boat jetty at Punggol Marina some 200m to 300m north along the shore. The few parcel of land before Punggol Marina is still 'intact', stretches of lalang fields and sporadic pine growth ... beautiful place with a number of bird species around as well. saw a few large herons along the riverside too, but i was too clumpsy and scared them off the moment i come to the riverside :bsmilie: we'll see after this shoot if we want to go there for any possible next shoot, cheers
