Well, if it makes you feel better, I lost out on the "FREE BATTERY"+ "PWP""!!!! hahahahha. Anyway, you win some, you lose some. Now i gotta get a spare battery from any B&S seller with reasonable price :dunno:

1 charge should last you decently long or even 1 day.. after that just re-charge it..(unless you are at a place for a few days and there is no input for you to charge).
Are u always on burst mode? or on assignment such that you need to shoot alot or every moment? else.. i really dont see much problem.. (of cos your mileage might be different)..
If it troubles you so bad just suck it up and buy another battery..dont cry over spill milk.

It's pointless having so many batteries but no external charger for the NEX6. Find it very troublesome as the camera is downgraded to a pure charger alot. It takes up to 2 hours just to charge 1 battery even.
Have already ordered 1 3rd party charger to aid in charging. This is 1 bad point about the NEX6 I feel.

Can you charge the original batteries with the 3rd party charger?
I agree with you and i find this rather troublesome and inconvenient. The charging is pretty slow for me as well (pretty sure that it took more than 2 hours for me to charge). Sony should have packaged it with a battery charger like what I had for my a550. Even if I get 2 or 3 batteries, I will have to get an external battery charger as well.

Don't forget the 5R is $150 cheaper than the 5N, you can easily buy the 1st party charger from that money and I think with charger included, the 6 would also be more expensive.

Pretty sure can (from what I read) but I have not tried it (cus I dont have it). Worst off, there are plenty of 3rd party batteries. For those that want to go for this option, they have to read up. I was reading there are some third party batteries that are made redundant through subsequent NEX firmwares updates (so they have to get the latest battery packs - till the next Nex firmware update). Because of these (and various other reasons - ie., not as long lasting as originals, may damage the cameras, etc), I only go for originals (and some originals arent that original as claimed!! lol).

The price is quite rock bottom for us already right now; so there will only be a street price drop if Sony drops its price to us.

I think there is plenty of room for that, just look at what happened to the 5D Mark III and the D800/E and how fast.
Also, the A99 has plenty of preasure from the D600 and the upcoming 6D.

I agree that the internal charging feature can be useful as it can double up as a 2nd charger to charge 2 batteries concurrently with an external charger. This can be especially useful during holidays.
I got myself a cheap 3rd party external charger to reduce downtime for my camera.
