Actually 300D and Pro1 are very different cam.
Although price wise if pretty close, unfair to compare them. And don't 4get that the Pro1 comes with a 28-200 L lens.
Thanks for the suggestion. If I were to look for a Nikon, I'll prefer the 8800 because of the VR and longer zoom. But heard that it was slow in writing RAW/TIFF files. Plus it is retailing at around $17** if I'm not mistaken?
Alas, I've been a Canon fan since my first EOS. Thus, the Pro 1 or G6 would be my 1st choice.
My budget is around $1k. Thus, I can only afford a 2nd hand Pro1 at best. Just missed DaNi3L's sale
Take note that there are a few things that a prosumer can never compete with a true slr...
1) Shutter lag
2) Image noise due to smaller CCD
3) Slower Zoom unless its manual control
4) slower AF speed
5) Poor background blur (very impt to me..my main reason of getting a SLR)
If u can live on to all the above short comings I think a prosumer can easily surpass a SLR in many other areas...and of cos it is alot cheaper!
Just imagine a Panasonic Fz20 with 420mm IS...How much do u think this will cost in a SLR lens? Its definitely a steal!
Just my 2 Cents!
If u ask me which 1 to choose? I choose neither 1..I will go for FZ20...hehe
