Please refer to this thread for some important changes made today - http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=120357

We apologise for the temporary "pain" that newly-registered members will have to go through, but this will be temporary and you will stand to benefit once you post more than 50 posts AND have been registered for more than 30 days.

Haha..ok.. looks like I have to post more then... Hope this one counts...

Hi Darren,
Thanks for your update. By the way, I can't get to the link. Any idea?
Thanks.

Ahhh.. other day I was thinking of complaining 70 is too little because you can probably send less than 35. Other balance will be incoming messages. Now all is done.. Thanks admin! :)

Hi Darren,

I think the link above is down. 30 days after the rule is implemented issit? :) Got to participate in more of the forum already... :)

Hi,
It might increase the number of unnecessary/frivolous posts. Sometimes I see "upz" messages (which I think are) sent to keep a thread in high profile...

The thread was deleted by the thread starter. Here is the pertinent information regarding the Workshop forums and Private Message limit.

With immediate effect, we have made the following changes:-

Workshops & Studio Shoots forum
1. Disable thread closing
2. Disable thread/post editing
3. Disable thread/post deleting

New members - those with less than 50 posts AND/OR registered less than one month.
1. Reduced total # of PMs to 10

The changes in the Workshop/Studio forum are meant to maintain transparency and accountability for studio/workshop organisers. Those organisers who want to maintain and sustain a long-term and viable business would not be worried about these changes, while we want to give some degree of assurance to those members who may be wary of fly-by-night organisers who do not have a track record in ClubSNAP.

For the PM portion, this restriction on total # of PMs will be lifted once the member has accumulated 50 posts AND has been registered for more than 30 days. As a bonus for enduring the cooling-off period, we have increased the limit of PMs for members who pass the 50-post and 30-day mark to 100 PMs.

The qualification to get 100 PMs is

a) Registered with ClubSNAP more than 30 days

AND

b) Have more than 50 posts

Sorry :D .... should inform before deleting ..... I thought the thread has served it's purpose, but forgotten the rest :D .... paiseh....

Hi Darren, Thanks for your reply.

Hi Darren,

Thanks for clearing some doubts... :)

...is the pm system working smoothly?

I only have 36PM stored... but it keeps showing 2 messages as new, but somehow I can't seem to see or find the new messages...

I have more than 50 posts and have registered for more than a month. Can I find out when will the pm limit be increased? Thanks.

I don't quite understand the rationale of forcing people to post. Already, I can't participate in poll, and now I have to delete all my PM in order to be able to PM again.....

why so much restriction? Are you facing a lot of problem with new users? Or people simply register too many accounts and doing something funny? These can be worked around by asking for a valid email, send the password to the email, and refuse the re-registration with the same email again.... this would have some deter effect, instead of restricting so much to the new user, or user who seldom post.

Hi Tigger

I'm afraid that your suggestion wouldn't work too. People can still work around by registering at Hotmail, Yahoo etc. In this case, all are valid and different email addresses.

Cheers
John

Hi Tigger,

Yes, we had experienced a few problems with individuals registering new nicks and posting in the Workshop/Studio forums and Consumers Corner. As these individuals are posting threads which invariably involve monetary transactions, we have had to be extra careful and limit the "exposure" via hidden mechanisms such as the Private Message system. Unfortunately, as a by-product, ordinary and legitimate new members such as yourself are affected adversely.

However, this current workaround may not be permanent, and we are actively looking for another way to effectively handle the new member's postings in Workshops & Consumers Corner.

Ok... I think you are doing it for the interest of the group.

BTW, you sound very PR, everything politically correct! :bsmilie:

Just found out this new feature. I think I am eligible for more than 10 pm but I am still stuck with 10 pm. Can check what happen?
