Good to see that Prime lenses are still very much alive!

It has always been alive......just like hi-fi sets. Individual hi-fi systems always will sound better than ALL-IN-ONE hi-fis. Asked any hi-fi kakis they will tell you that.

Prime/Fixed focal lens construction has better stability in terms of lighting control. Lens is built of many complicated elements and glasses. The convex and concave glasses (high quality ones) reflect and refract light rays through the lens which builts up an image.

A good example is the 50mm f1.8 which is one of the lightest, cheapest, sharpest and easiest primes to use. So much RD has been put into a this lens throughout the years. It may look like a cheap, simple and straight forward lens but those who own it knows the lens can produce a high quality images.

Not that high powered zooms are not good, just different.

Try eBay.....it's really the best place to get a rare prime you are searching for.

Or offer Witness a price he cannot refused...

My landscape trinity. 20mm f/2.8, 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.

Just asking if any1 bought USED lens from B&H? How's e condition usually if it's rated 9?

TIA!
Jon

I use both primes and zooms but the majority of my lenses are prime.
