Prices for Canon DSLR cameras

Obviously HK has much better price for Canon DSLR, only ~S$2150 SRP with 17~85mm f/4-5.6 IS. Compare to Canon SG's S$2899, a difference of S$750! Are we really look like carrot to Canon SG? :angry:

I believe the HK street price will be even lower, if I can find an HK online shop selling even at SRP of S$2150 + $100 postage, I can still save $650.

The catch here is will Canon SG validate the warranty? put it the other way, does Canon offer international warranty?

No conversion of warranty available for canon bodies from i have gathered in SG and JP.

I found this website that offer Canon Malaysia 1 year warranty, the Canon EOS 40D Kit: EF-S 17-85MM f/4-5.6 IS USM is ~RM5000 include shipping! thats ~S$2200 with 1 year Canon warranty.

Canon Malaysia has a branch in JB thats few KM away from Woodland check point.

which is about the same distance if one stay at EAST, WEST and NORTH sides of SG.

If one stay at Woodland, the distance is the same, yes? especially those who visit JB frequently, its not a problem at all.

anyway, it apply to those with car only as taking bus thru checkpoint is kind of troublesome...

Really nobody ever do that? from the above price quote, the saving is at least $350 for 40D with EF-S 17-85MM f/4-5.6 IS USM. the 40D body only price may not be that attractive though.

Hi there this is my 1st post here My greetings to all photography pals here!

I bought my Canon EOS 40D kit II from PC show at $2700 with 8G CF cards, 80G portable hard disc, 20pcs DVD-R, lens cleaning cloth, Sunblitz filter, 2 carrying cases (one which he gave me by mistake and I did not find out till I got home), tripod and some photography guides.

Is this a good or bad buy? Please guide me in this new found hobby of mine! Thanks!
