Maybe a typo in the reply? That is even higher than the promo listed price from canon.

When I emailed them back again to confirm the price, they quote me a lower price instead - S$1620.00 (exclude 7%GST)

Went the the widely recommended John3:16 they are offering $1330 for standard kit 1 with 8GB card and Bag. whereas i went to bargaincity and saw that they are offering it at $1399 with the following items.

- FREE Extra Compatible Battery
- FREE SDHC Card Reader
- FREE LCD Protector
- FREE Cleaning Kit

That's not a bad price actually.

16GB SDHC should be ~ 60+
Compatible Battery ~ 20-30+
SDHC Card Reader could be bundled with the 16GB SDHC
Cleaning Kit (lenspen + blower? or 1 only?) ~ 10+ to 20+

So the 500D works out to about ~1300? Decent price.
