Price for D90

we went and check the price for Nikon D90 for 1,200S$ at Sim Lim. it is a great deal to buy it?
*i scared that they will sale the damage or bad quality. do u have any suggestion for this? plz help me out, im going to buy it soon and im not really good at camera

I suggest that you call the recommended shops here at CS to get the best deal
AP, Cathay, TK, MS, Lords

I dun think these shops will entertain call in customers. I have did a try to call those shops in SLS and got turn away by nasty reply. They only want you to go down personal to ask.

Apparently, they do. I have call to ask quotes for cameras and lenses.
I have even sent them email for e-quotes too.
CP, Lord's, MS, John316 are not SLS stores.
As for those shops in SLS, no comment.

I have always received a rather pleasant response from Lords when I call them. Cathay and AP are cordial at best, but that's ok for me.

You checked by phone? It 's different when you come down to ask. I have encountered this when I came there to buy, even nobody answered my call then I came directly to check and bought it. Happy snapping w my set now! Good luck, bro.

Reserved my D90 from J- one, KL cost me RM 3000 for D90 body + Nikon 4Gb SD Card + Nikon bag ... RM 3000 /2.38 = S$1260. :thumbsup:

i think price difference is due to GST. so your warranty is covered in malaysia and not in sg?

Think so. If i not wrong body warranty only apply to the country of purchase.
Not like lenses there are international warranty.

You can get a new one without trading your 4GB

Yes, the warrantly is covered in Malaysia. I still think is worth it cos if anything goes wrong, just cross the causeway.

Actually it's quite subjective, because i travel to KL quite often too.

Most important, based on my experience by using previous Nikon body, it never cause me any problem before.

I personally think that getting a Nikon body from Malaysia is one of the good choice. You can get the same quality of goods but paying lesser. Perhaps can use the extra money to invest in original battery grip or genuine Nikon battery.

I hv got 1650 (kit set) paying by cash include the GST n extra 4GB...(luckyplaza, funan, peninsula...never check at sim lim sqr)

i make it a point to avoid checking price after i have made the purchase. you should only consider doing that if you intend to return to the same shop to buy other items, but was afraid of being overquoted (again). for such items of 1-2k, you might expect price differences within a 100 to be reasonable. and of cos, make sure the warranty coverage is similar before comparing prices.
