Unlikely. The 550D will be priced above the 500D, which is still far more expensive than the K-x.
If the 500D come down in price enough, maybe the K-x will have to reduce further.

Doesn't this just happen? amazon US now has k-x white kit at US$510, and 300mm dual kit at US$650.

Dun like that say, emjay already quite good in pricing. If they can be close to Amazon but slightly higher cos of the small market, then it'll be good.

Actually one thing I would like to see is emjay takes over tokina distribution in Singapore. Cathay prices it crazily high. And no support.

Since tokina and pentax lens are quite similar for some of them, emjay can support the lens technically will be great.

anyway, just search "k-x 300mm" in the amazon US, in the right hand corner "more buying choices" see "amazon.com" and click the "See price in cart". done.
(although as usually ships in 1 to 2 months, that is the cost of 0-inventory idea)

Don't order from Amazon just yet. Wait till Feb end. You may get even lower pricing in Singapore + local warranty + instant delivery upon payment! Deliveries from Amazon, from my personal direct experience, can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 6 weeks... for K-x I think wait will be longer. I got mine after a whole bloody month! Grrrrrr! That's why my lips are the way they look... result of waiting tension!!

But have you also factored in the cost of 7% GST at Singapore customs checkpoint plus cost of additional shipping to Singapore (between $30 to $50 extra)?

Tokina's agent is CP. And they can't support it technically even if their lives depend on it. Emjay since can support pentax lens, I'm sure they'll do fine with Tokina lens.
