Price drop for Kx Body/Kit/200mm/300mm lens kit :)

Hi all, just call Jason from SLR Revolution and he said he make a BIG mistake...price is still at $782 but no freebies. So i advise those who had emailed or call him earlier, please try again to clarify with him again;p

No freebies. I just bought my white pentax kx from SLR revolution. I shall go read the manual now.

For a first timer, I'd say get both. From there, you can get used to the different focal lengths. Next thing you know, you'll be venturing into the world of primes.

At $120, the 50-200 is an incredibly cheap gamble if you ask me. Kinda like a nifty fifty, except Pentax doesn't sell the F 50/1.7 much nowadays. :sweat:

may i ask. If this round i skip buying the 50-200mm. next time i want to buy back this kind of lenses you think i can get this price ?

cause my concern is this round i skip the 50-200, i can use that money to buy those charger,bag & etc....
don wan to commit that much

Not likely. You'll most probably have to buy it at the solo price.
But who knows, maybe by then you'll be interested in buying another lens instead, like a 70-200mm f/2.8 :bsmilie:

Only about $1.5-1.6k...
Yeah I usually carry my DA 18-250mm and FA 50mm f/1.4
Occasionally my Tokina RMC 70-210mm f/3.5

Can check the Sigma and Tamron prices in the Pentax price list. Got my Tamron 70-200 shipped from US at S$1220 everything in.

Hi Pentax pros, My gf considering the dual lens kit with the 55-300mm lens.

Is the 55-300mm lens ok in image quality? Or is it better to go with 50-200mm?

50-200 and 55-300 is both W:lovegrin:W in IQ. but still prefer 55-300 for longer reach. for both you cannot go wrong... ;p

That's correct. The 50-200mm that comes with the K-x dual lens kit is the DA-L version, not the WR version.

Ok thanks, quite annoyed that kit lens are crippled version sold by Pentax, have to create production line just to bundled crippled lens for 3 lenses do not make economic sense to me.

I think their profit margin will remain the same by saving the money not to create manufacturing processes for lenses nobody wants.

DA is the standard version of the lens which has been discontinued.
DA-L is a lighter and cheaper version of the DA. Comes with plastic mount, lacks quick shift and a hood
WR is the Weather Resistant version of the DA

It is not necessary to call up the shop to make a reservation, but it's recommended thing to do to confirm the price and availability so that you won't be dissapointed when you go down.

I think you are severely underestimating the demand for the 50-200mm DA-L lens, considering someone just offered to buy it off you

wanted to reserve a RED dual kit lens but they say only single kit lens can choose other colours.
DUAL lens only have black colour.

Pardon me... what is the real purpose of buying additoinal 50-200mm lens ?

That's correct, if you want to go for the dual lens kit you have to get a black body.

The numbers refer to the focal length range of the lens.

50-200mm means the lens can zoom in to 200mm and zoom out to 50mm.
