Dear gurus,

Contemplating between DA 35mm F2.4 and DA 50mm F1.8?

Which one will be a good walk about lens?

The price is more expensive for DA 35mm F2.4 though...

Do you have any kit lens with you?can set the focal to 35 and shoot around then move to 50 and shoot around..
See which focal length is more suitable for you then also factor whether do you need very low light performance
And also for me,i found out after getting k5 that even f2.4 is bright enough usually for me,even F2.8 is good enough when shooting in low light conditions.

Just my 2cents as i am still quite new to this hobby :)

no guru advise involved here... its mainly personal preference. i've always found 50mm a little tight for indoor spaces.

for me, i use the DA35 and FA31 more often than the FA50 so my preference is towards the 30+mm range.

when i see a need to go further, i find a zoom is more versatile, which is where my tamron 28-75 comes in.

Only 2 lens for me ;

Sigma 50m 1.4 and Tamron 28-75m 2.8 .... good enough ...

shot this with vivitar 105, about 400 plus, quite near to tamron pricing. But Tamron has AF which is good for portraits too.

took yesterday with single flash and bump some highlight using picassa. almost the same original, without sharpening..

Why? U want? ;)

There is no bad macro lens. Just go w/ whatever you like and are willing to pay.

Personally I'd suggest to go for the DFA100WR, then be done w/ it. Otherwise you'd end up be another Liverpool's Madman ;)
