Just the other day, I was emptying my pocket of loose change when I noticed an unusual coin.
On closer inspection, it turns out to be a PRC coin that very strongly resembles our 1-dollar coin, being of the same colour and being only slightly smaller.
This must have been handed over to me as change for a purchase and I must have probably not noticed the difference.
When I mentioned this to a Sheng Siong cashier, she confirmed that there are many of these coins in circulation and that her management has warned them all to be on the lookout for a PRC coin that looks like our 50-cent coin.
Please pass this on to all your friends and relatives.
