how? i tried it last time but i failed. too bulky to carry around lah.. esp if u wan to carry it to a fireworks display

U can release the shutter with a laptop though.

hey guys have u ever tried FOILAGE mode,
did you notice that the pictures are better satuated and nicer.. for pics like greenary, the horizon, the sky ect.

cos i prefer to work on the P Tv Av M modes, i was wondering what colour setting is the cloest to that.

you think
contrast +1
sharpness +2
satuation +2
green +1
blue +1
red +1
skin tone +1

can match the colour settings on FOILAGE?

previously someone asked me to use vivid but it doesn't get that same effect/ level of colours as of FOILAGE.

cheers!=)

Guys, long time I did not post in this forum.

I just returned from a HK holiday. Went to disneyland and took some pictures of the fireworks display. Just want to ask: which is the best setting to take fireworks?

Also, I did not bring a tripod. So, I had to take many of the shots handheld. So, many of them were blur. Which tripod is good, light, portable and cheap? I want something easy to carry for holidays.

Having played with the S3 for some time, I love the features. But I do find that a wider angle lens would be very much more useful, especially when you try to take group photos and there are so many cameramen. If you move too close to the group, you cut off the people on the side. If you move too far away, you include the other cameramen in the picture. With those wide convertors, do I still have the zoom capability (understandly maybe lower zoom) or do I need to take the convertors off I want to zoom?

Apologies if the questions have already been asked.

By the way, I am also looking for a 4GB card for my S3. Anyone has tried any brand and am satisfied?

Currently, I am using 2GB 133x Lexar Professional and 120x Kingston Ultimate. Both very good.

Hi bro, really long time no see woh.

For fireworks, I use to take with f8, shutter form 2-8sec, depending on the situation....but mostly 2-5 sec. ISO100.

For tripod, I think S3 is not too heavy, a reasonable piece will be fine.:)

Hi Stray Sheep,

You can get the raynox one at this addy : http://www.mcgill.com.sg

I just got my wide converter (0.66x) from them. Really nice and solid. There are 2 TC for the S3. One is 1.54x the other is the 2.2x. But I guess you need a tripod to get a good shot since handshake will surely be very pronounced even with the anti-handshake feature on the canon. Its better to get the raynox adapter, its more snug and tight as compared to those I tried from other camera shops (some really have big tolerances that it makes alot of sound - imagine you are doing movies and you hear that..Zzzzzzz).

:p Thx bro for ya promt reply.. I'll go hv a look.... Maybe I'll get the 2.2x for my S3 as its christmas present.... hahah

even with original adaptor?

even with original adaptor?

Not sure about the original one. 59 bucks or so and made of plastic but it comes with a hood. I didn't get it. I only try a few 3rd party adapters. But the raynox one doesn't have much tolerance. So it don't move as much. Say in geometric terms around 1 ~ 2 degrees if u take 360 degrees as reference. The rest more than that. That's my estimation.

I took a couple of fireworks shots in HK Disneyland. No special setting. Just took the shots while taking the movie in movie mode. So, I have no idea what the setting is.
