Hi,

I just got my S3IS for S$745 (incl GST) 2 weeks ago. :)
Bought it at Song Bros @ Sim Lim Sq Ground Floor.
Got the 7in1 kit bag, 512 SD card, and GP charger with 4 2100mAh batteries.

They might ask you to get it at Canon Customer Service centre at Harbourfront, but if you insist, they can give the freebies to you there and then.
What they told me was the freebies in the outlet are for foreigners who do not want to travel to Harbourfront.

There are 2 outlets in Sim Lim, I suggest you check out both of them to get a quote.
When I went to the other outlet on 1st Floor, the guy quoted me S$800!

ya $735 is inclusive of GST.... but seem tat they kept changing price... :S

just got my S3 IS, seems that my 4 way selector quite loose on the left & right button,
& when i zoom back, i heard small flipping sound from the lens,
have any of u guys encounter this problems...

next day i went to alan foto for an xchange, but denied, they ask me refer to canon harborfront, the AP SAlesMan took mine & compare with a new set, i tried the 4way selector on new set & working fine, & that fellow  keep saying my 4way selector button is working fine even it damn loose no tension at all , his thumb must have gone wrong:thumbsd: & he insist of exchanging a new set for me even within 7 days.

so have to go canon & explain to them lol, & leave my S3 there for diagnosis...

finally canon call me up today & tell me to go down AP to collect a new set :vhappy:
during collection time, the high rank staff got a dark cloud on top of him.

seems that alan foto after sales service going :thumbsd:

same. my lens motor got louder after 2 days. but as long as the movie mode zoom is silent throughout the range, im fine with it. i have some "flipping or clicking" sounds when i zoom the lens back in slow mode.

my "down" button does not click but it works. no tactile feel. my half-press shutter button is also flimsy compared to all my cameras.

it still does take nice pictures though. cam quality can be improved but i will use it until something wrong happens.

I agree that the release button is flimsy...no solid feel...but overall the camera is worth while :)

I went to the 1st flr, the customer service is hell lot better than the one at 2nd floor.
Last week,I went to the 2nd and check the price for a polarizing lens. The guy at counter took out and quote me the price, when i say thks and walk away. He sarcasticly shouted "TOO EXPENSIVE HUH ?" Such a bloody ass,

Don't get it from SLS. Get it from CP or TK Foto, then you won't get such abuses :(

:dunno: Actually it's a particular sales person we are talking about.....may be they work shift between 1st and 2nd floor, thus the diff in service level......I think a shop front staff plays a very important on the image of the shop.:)

I was "TerTok" by MS Color on a lens cap for $10 (which someone here told me lens cap only $5) and MSC is one of the "honest" shop around......What to do?

Yeah...not all of em' in SLS are rotten.

Yes lastbolnut, $5 should be the norm. I just bought a new lens cap (need a 52mm one after attaching my adapter+filter) at AP. But who knows, maybe you got a 'BRANDED' one :)

Haiyo! My lens cap where got brand. Some more when I buy, I ask the guy is there a loop for sling and he told me yes, but no sling. So I took his words and when I reach home then realised no loop lah.

I went back the nex day and the lady told me all lens cap no loop, then she asked me to buy a stick on sling for another $3......:mad2:

So, MSC also not very good loh, based on my experience with them:sticktong

Erm, depends on what kind of lens cap mah.

Some lens cap is just "put it on" like the S3 original, some are pinched kind with has a small spring mechanism to lock it.

some got loop but for me, i just prefer a simple one without the loop and the lens cap hanging around my cam to "kajiao" me.

CP sold me one 58mm generic for $5. Accessories at MSC are quite expensive. Jackson, store manager kindly "advised" me to get a big screen protector and cut myself. He selling $10. :)

need screen protector meh?! really unecessary for S3

oily face and finger prints and dust. :)

easier to clean with cloth too. That's for me.

Okay... Maybe I can suggest you get a plastic bag and wrap up your camera :bsmilie:

Well, that sure sounds bad.:thumbsd:

Like davesmiths, I also don't like the 'dangling' lens cap *quite annoying*.

And just like tomlowct, I also didn't use a screen protector. The rubber attachment for the EVF is protruding out so much, I don't think my 'facial oil' will touch the LCD. But maybe it's just that my nose is too flat.....:bsmilie:

Come to think about it, shouldn't have bought the sling.....

Hi guys, I've just gotten S3 and I've noticed that the pictures taken in the fast shutter mode are always grainy. Is it the norm or I should get my camera checked?

Thanks!

Don't think it has anything to do with your fast shutter. Check your ISO settings. Try not to go beyond 200.

Oh, but I thought I can only adjust the ISO speed for manual modes like P, Tv etc.
I am unable to adjust the ISO speed for the fast shutter mode though.

How about you read through your manual book first?
