How about you read through your manual book first?

Yeah, I've read through the manual and it mentioned adjustment of ISO Speed only for P, Tv, Av and M modes.

I think you are referring to the sports mode right? The one with the icon of a running man? That mode will give priority to freezing the action and hence, if you are shooting under lower lighting conditions like indoor, the cam will up your ISO. I think that's why you are getting the grainy pics. Try it outdoors on a bright sunny day and see if you still have the problem.

Just checking i'm being quoted 280 bucks sing for wide lens converter the WC DC 58A whereas the official website says the retail price is 199..am i being ripped off or what?? Is there anything i can do about it cause i got this emolux wide lens, and my pics have bad barrel distortion and the corners are a blurry mess...So i'm trying to exchange the emolux crap for an official one.But if its 280..i gotta like top up a hundred bucks more...

If the official price is only S$199 (it is), but the shop wants you to pay S$280, surely the answer is obvious to your first question? Most likely, I think you have been quoted not just for the converter but also the adapter. Even then, the combined price cannot be $280. More like $215 or thereabouts. Maybe the quote included other items.

By the way, be more patient. :) Just two minutes and you send a chaser!

gee thanks man...but can you tell me where you got that cool price?? yup the 280 is for the lens and the converter..the images i'm getting is bad so i gotta at least get a better one..i tried getting Raynox but can't find it...thought emolux was good but crap...

Is it true that we should not on IS when our S3 is resting on a tripod ????

can anyone advice me about this ? thanks

I got the quotes from Alan Photo, Sim Lim Square. But I am not knowledgeable in this area. There are many others here who actually use and own these converters. And I remember them saying the Raynox or some other brand is better. Maybe you can read up the threads and see what they have to say.

With tripod, you dun need the IS. But having the IS "on", it should not be a prob ba?:)

Read this thread for the Raynox information. There is a forumer (Morphis) here who can help you buy...PM Morphis for Raynox product, or go to the MO thread...:)

Morphis no longer does Raynox MO. PM Jim instead.

Woah. So many S3 users here. :)
I'll likely be getting mine this weekend. If not at Comex, then maybe at M S Color or Alan Photo.

Turn IS off when it's on the tripod.

Just like any EF lens, IS needs to be turn off.

If your IS is not off, your images will turn out with slight blur.
The IS mechanism will be compensating for nothing and thus creating shake in your images.
