They are giving free GP 2100 NiMH + charger. Sell them off & get the 2700tks said:You can use all AA batteries safely. (Ok, maybe not those really cheap ones from China that may leak after a while.) The rating simply tells you how long the battery can last. I didn't know that the batteries given out by Canon with the S3 has rating? I thought they were just disposable alkalines.
In auto, you cannot change anything, except for you file resolution. P Mode lets you set exposure compensation, white balance, ISO, colour saturation/contrast/sharpness, bracketing, flash power, and metering.zh2908 said:hihi... just to check, actually whats the difference between auto and P mode? cant seem to adjust the aperture and shutter speed... so whats the diff? hehe... told u guys i'm a noob... sorry...
You can only use bracketing if you do not use the flash. There are two types of bracketing, exposure and focus.zh2908 said:oh ya, since i'm asking, also got very curious about bracketing... after reading the manual, i "understand" (as in from what i understand) that bracketing means taking a couple of shots (3?) at 1 time. however, when i tried to shoot with the bracketing thing on, i still end up with 1 file only. i suppose my understanding is somewhat wrong. can someone enlighten me? thanks!

Focus will take the shot at the point you focused, and a shot infront & behind that point. It is usefull for macro work or where you are not sure of the focus.
Exposure will take a shot at the exposure you set and under-exposed and over-exposed shot. Good if you are not sure of the exposure.
You need to release the shutter 3 times. (3 photos but different exposures)zh2908 said:hm.. ok... but how come only 1 file is found? not 3?

Nope, it will take three shots all by itself. Best to use a tripod.Canew said:You need to release the shutter 3 times. (3 photos but different exposures)

by the way - thanks to all of u. From my little mauritius, I've been able to get a thorough idea of pricing in Singapore - and believe me, the official distributor here in Mauritius has not yet put this model in his shop.
tks said:No lah, this cannot be right. Even on my S1 IS, when you choose the mode that takes 3 different exposure settings (forgot what you call it), you only hit the shutter once, and the camera takes 3 different pictures at 3 different exposures. I just checked the website. It says the camera will take 3 shots at the same interval as high speed continuous shooting.
"Continuous mode" is that button just below the shutter button with a few overlapping squares. With this setting, when you hit the shutter without releasing it, it takes continuous pictures at about 2.3 pictures per second, all at the same setting.
