repeating pattern is nice. a gd architecture shot. when u r taking this pic, is there an overcast?
i feel the exposure is slightly under exposed. +0.3 will be fine.

the foreground is a bit distracting.

i like the composition of this shot  the passing train with the couple at the corner.
as though the gal is telling the guy: " can you pls don't go?"

Good for you to buy S9500. one of the most versatile prosumer in the market.
try to use the different settings that are available. the other accessories can wait.
if yr shots are mostly indoors, perhaps u want to consider buying an external flash.
please take more pics to keep our thread active.

thanks alot for your comments! will work on it! i felt the same way too for the first pic, under exposed. it was taken with an huge patch of rain cloud over that area. thanks anyway, will try experimenting the camera's features more in future. cheers!;)

no worries man! :)

hello, and since u look new here, i welcome u to CS :)
the comments below are my honest opinions. i am new to this hobby too just like u :)

1st pic do seems a bit underexposed to me. other than that, it seems fine. however, it does not seems impressive.

2nd pic, i dun really understand. cant comment on this, sorry

3rd pic. interesting composition, i like this concept. just a few suggestions that may or may not improve this picture:
1) A slightly slower shutter speed to make the train movement more dramatic.
2) try the traditional rectangular crop? the square crop looks a little strange. maybe can try cropping of the ceiling?

hi guys,

greetings to all! need comments n advice on this one, thanks!

pretty good picture. but i think there's too many leaves. i think it will be better if u limit the leaves and droplets to about 2 or 3, then try going in to get a closeup :)
overall i like the concept.

;) thanks zak, appreciate it. tips noted.

hey, not a problem. u, me, we're all here to learn!

i know nuts abt city-scape, just some of my own views.

for building or landscape shots, the object of interest must standout, such that when a viewer see the pics he will "wow!", "ooh!"

the 1st pic of the stone is like an intro of a story, but the next pic shows the roof. It is though one reads the intro of a book and next flip to the center. Presentation and organisation of the pics are also crucial. You can try framing the pics while you are walking around the building.

the building featured here has a unique architecture design with a slope like roof that has turf grass on it. yr pics don't bring out the overall view of the building. It will be better if fit the shot is taken from a higher ground so that u can capture the whole structure.

sorry but i think ur pictures here don't really work. just being frank here.
im not good at land/city scapes too but this is just what i feel....

i like the 1st pic composition, but the line of pebbles leads to.... stairs? not too interesting.
the rest of the pictures seems like snapshots to me.

again, sorry for the harsh comments, just speaking how i feel.

went to shoot some pics this week, here they are just to share.
frank comments welcomed! :) i have some more if anyone is intersted...

oh, its oki. no prob with being frank or harsh. they r not 'seems like' snapshots. They r snapshots. cos mainly to snap some pics of the new building n posted them in the city-scape sub-forum to let pple see. dun haf any idea of shooting in any artistic way or wat. and sry i didnt posted in the same chronological way of i shoot and i didnt posted here as many as i did in the sub forum. so thats y vbs1979 bro might feel that the 'story' is not here not there.
i would love the layout of the pebbles to lead to somewhere interesting, but too bad.. the designer of the building didnt think of that obviously. anyway thx for all the comments. better here den the subforum where oni 1 guy commented. :)

well, i think not much ppl commented cos usually, there's nothing much to comments for snapshots.

if there's nothing interesting, maybe u can try croping the top and make the pebbles ur main subject...play around with the composition and exposure settings.
