thanks for joining us at the preview session, hope that those of you who attended had a good amount of time with the E-PL1. for the record, I am not working for Olympus.
those who are are considering the the E-PL1 as a 2nd camera or even as your main camera, do try to have an open mind about micro-4/3s offerings on the market.
the E-PL1 is an entry level camera, so if you are evaluating this like a Dslr where AF speed and direct controls are concerned, you're out of luck. this camera is designed for compact pns upgraders who want better images in a camera without a large increase in size and weight, yet this camera is capable to grow with you on your photographic journey. besides, you will never need to buy a backpack just to bring this around.
for those of you comparing this to the GF1 (which i own). a few key points about the E-PL1
E-PL1 advantages over GF1

2. better JPGs
3. very reliable AWB
4. slightly more powerful flash (that can be bounced)
5. access to VF2 EVF
6. no battery 'chip' lock that may void your warranty when circumvented
7. good ISO800 to 1600 JPGs
8. full customization of settings can be unlocked

1. 20mm/f1.7 comes bundled
2. high spec-ed LCD
3. faster AF
4. AF works well in low light
