Just gotten my A40 yesterday.. den tat guy intro me this pouch or rather camera casing for $19. Say wat orginal casing and stuffs... ask him got other bags and casing say no. As there are many customers ard, he rushed me into making a decision and now i reli find the casing useless... imo its reli expensive after reading tat ppl here got the bag for only $15-$30, and wif long sling. I only got a short sling and wat im reli looking for is a long sling for a camera... is it possible to go down to AP and exchange for other slings/bags?
Possible to change wif AP?

Terrible experience today!!! all thanks to a salesman named Sam. ;(
Yap, i went down, asked for exchange, cited my reasons clearly. That the 'original' canon casing which is made of leather i bought for $20 is very quite useless and no use for it, and i had bought wrongly. Asked whether can exchange for Lowepro D-Res 20AW. One of the salesman who quoted me $22 for that , and looks like hes willing to change until Sam(the guy who sold me the canon cover) came. He insisted that its was very old already and that I cant change. 2ndly, insisted that he didnt force me to buy.
I was very pissed off, the other salesman were alright wif it except for him. Wats more, hes the one who told me there are no other cameras pouch or bags for A40 when i was buying tat day. And when i wanted to ask more tat day, he said he cant entertain me anymore as he got other customers coming in already.
So I debated wif him abit and decided to walk to Steven and try. While Steven was bz, i waited there and Sam stood ard the area. He was insistent that I cant exchange and its very old (ah duh? 3 days???). Keep saying in a very cocky manner, theres no such thing as exchange for bags and that if i wan, i better buy, tok to who also no use.
I den gave him a piece of my mind that I reli felt cheated when he told me there r no other models and bags for the camera in the shop, and tat him convincing me tat original casing was the only 1 available. Not being prepared to buy the casing tat day, I didnt do any research and believed him. Of coz, i didnt mean he had cheated me, but i had been foolish and gullible. Ok nvm. I could afford to buy another 1 anyway, so i decided to ask how much was the lowerpro bag again so that maybe i would buy it.
Now, Sam den change his tone and told me hes willing to gimme a 'good' price. He den quoted $25. Wat crap!!! this is 3 dolars more den the original price and he can call it special price!!! Now im reli furious!!!!
I asked "YYY special price is lydat one??? 3 dolars more den wat YR colleague quoted me????"
It isnt a matter of money now, its a matter of principles.

me: u say u wanted gimme GOOD price wat, of coz i ask u wats yr good price!!!
sam: ok lah! now i give u $20 lah!
Theres reli sumthin abt his attitude. I reli didnt like it so I changed my mind abt buying the pouch now. Asked for EXCHANGE becoz hes obviously trying 2 b dishonest wif me. And also very RUDE. To the xtent I got furious and told him
"Hello? U r in the service line and is this the way to tok to customers?"
AND he had the nerves to reply that he was HURT when i said HE WAS CHEATING ME, and clearly twisted my words. Absolutely BS!!!
yes... we sparred for 1-2 more minutes, until one of his colleagues stopped us and ask me to go behind for the exchange and solution. This salesman was clearly different. Polite and friendly, i instantly cool down. He said... exchange no prob... $20 only mah... everything solved..
Just to clear everything up... I didnt think every shop is obliged for an exchange, but surely theres a way to tok to ppl and xplain 2 yr customers. Clearly, Sam didnt tok to me properly and in a very rude way and i wasnt happy at all. This is not the kind of service im expecting from a reputable shop. hes a reli hard person, ever since i started goin AP for my stuffs, I reli didnt like to b served by him. I dunno wat u ppl tink, but hes attitude reli sucks. Not tat i wanted to argue over $20, i could well afford it but it will go to the pocket of ppl whom i tink deserve it only.

wau.......i got my A40 from there also..........i also ask for the guy got the case pouch.....he say the original one is $40 he sell me half price.....then say ok lah $18.........heng i nv buy form him.........u should go to cathay photo........i got this lowepro pouch for $18 only......store 4 AA batt and can store 2 CF card + rain proof compartment.......come with a long sling also

i think it should be the short guy.......he quote me $18 for the pouch......say wat original selling $40 then say sell me halfprice.......so i just say no enough $$$ liao.........so he say ok loh last $18 ai mai.......so i say dont want..........i today went down to cathay photo n got this lowepro pouch loh......
My experience. I bought a firewire card reader from Sam (fair, short chap, right?) The reader worked at home at first, then my PC hung while reading. The reader didn't work after that. Brought it down to the office to try. Didn't work there either. Called AP. Sam was busy so I told the guy on the line what happened. He asked me to bring it down for an exchange. Bought it in the next day. A replacement, there was only one available, was reserved there for me. Sam did the exchange, apologised and asked me to bring it home to try. He said that if it didn't work I could swap for something else or he would refund me the money.
Basically, this Sam guy's attitude towards you depends on what you buy from him. My friend went there once and asked about a ballhead and the attitude Sam gave my friend sucked!!!
Only a week after that I went there to buy some Sigma lenses and he turned out to be a "friendly" and "nice" guy. Whats more he gave me a good price for the lenses.
Walk in and say that you want to buy a D1X and see whether the attitude he gives you will be the same.

next time anyone from CS buy a cam, quickly shoot all the staff of AP and post and we could identify who are the better salesman and who to avoid.
