On the contrary, Nikon has no need to stick to the 1.5x crop if they don't want. The DX lenses issue is not anything major. So, i wouldn't be surprized if there's already a D3 in the making? But rest for sure that there'll be a rebate bonanza come end of this year for the d2x and all existing digital products as always.
