portraits sections always same faces

In my opinion, I look at photography objectively. I see models as subjects. It does not matter if my subjects look the same. The objective is to practice and learn. Doesn't matter if my subjects are pretty or ugly.

Try to see an image as a photographic presentation and not only looking at the main subject. See the image as a whole. Maybe that will disperse your attention evenly throughout the entire image.

If I were you, I will not bother to start a thread like this. I do not mean to offend you (if I did, I am sorry), I deem this topic as "very boh liao". I will not start a boh liao thread inviting other boh liaos writing boh liao replies to boh liao questions... Well... Having said that, I myself had also just became a boh liao... Ha ha ha ha. :)

nono haha you got me wrong :bsmilie: i mean its common after photoshoot everyone here has the same photos but would it be nicer to have a thread for that outing maybe where everyone can post there rather than 30 threads dedicated to that event. i do agree subject can always be the same but i would it be more interesting to see a completely different sort perspective eg: jing quek's works and all?

does it occur to you after organised phootshoot always the same faces rotating around the section? not that i am blaming anyone as we are all entitled to post our photos.. but I think the section be nicer with much more variety with different people. perhaps the photography circle here really is small :D

I always love seeing some new photos of children, elderly etc. seeing too many similar pretty faces with the same poses and all kinda gets bored after awhile

what do you guys think?

the simple answer is that there is much more interest in CS in (model) "poses" rather than "portraits". that's why you will see a lot more photographs of pretty models in posed shots rather than portaiture. i think there is certainly more scope to post portrait photographs here that encompass a wider variety of subjects, beyond kids and elderly, but also well known as well as ordinary people. for example, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mircea_cartarescu_by_cosmin_bumbutz.jpg

yup.. ordinary people is the word!! of all the replies so far, you answered my question!! =). that CS people at portraits section are more into "poses" than models hence maybe the lack of variety of faces. Maybe i wasn't here long enough.

It is considered to be boh liao to tell boh liao people that their boh liao posts are classified as boh liao as boh-liaoness is a state of boh liao mind rather than a boh liao urge just to type boh liao posts and there is another aspect of boh-liaoness that is endearing to the boh liao kakis everywhere on the boh liao net and it is often the degree of boh-liaoness that is putting people off and not the act of being boh liao.

After writing this I realise that being boh liao is such a common cyber infectious illness. :)

i see. i didnt read between the lines :D wads XXM? i duno abt you guys but after shooting for awhile well i admit i have some posey shots. i asked myself why am i doing it. how should i express what i want in my photos so i head down to the portraits section to see how the others were doing but all i saw were fashion, and well poses and all.. i know one man's meat is another poison but seems like how it is and how it will be.

why ppl like to shoot posey. care to share?? i mean it may sound bo liao but i am really curious. I havent been long in this field but posey= see pretty gal and i notice photoshoots with bikini themes haha v hot selling. Nevertheless, i am sure there are alot photographers around here that agree on the sex sell issue otherwise will not have that famous thread.

well, tell me what do do with those cutesy photos? shoudn't every photo tell a story? ahhh i am deviating pardon me @,@:sweatsm:

firstly

Frequently Used Acronyms in ClubSNAP

XMM = Xiao mei mei

i do not shoot this genre of photography now, so i won't know what their intentions are.
but i do know that once a long time ago, i did shoot XMM and nudes
but i lost interest in XMM really quick, but artistic nudes still remains a challenge to me and one day, i just might give it another shot

but there is a really fine line between pornography and fine art nudes
and that is the real challenge.

If you check the other photography forums, there are tonnes of XMMs as well what. It's just human nature (or male nature). The reason other forums don't have the same few faces is because they are spread over a far larger geographical area.

But I still stand by my suggestion that a separate subforum will be better, especially since the erm popularity of glamour photography has erm increased here. lol.

please post your feedback/suggestion to the feedback forum
things here in the kopitiam are not taken too seriously due to the nature of this forum
and might be missed, due to the large number of posts and threads

everyone loves a pretty face. you notice if the gal pretty even if the photo is so so people will say nice but of the gal isn't all pretty, you start getting stuffs like eh her hair cover eyes etc.

bottom line. a pretty model will get people focusing to her face or whatever than the photos :bsmilie::bsmilie:
