Portrait Shoot: Nan (Dark Retro Style)

Thank you for viewing my pictures. This was a test shoot testing out location.

Thanks for sharing... beautifully done

I love the tone and she's beautiful. But i think her eyes are a bit overdone for my taste.

Where's the dark? The model is way too well lit-up. And virtually every shot is a look at the camera and smile shot. Repetitive after a while.

I wouldn't called this dark. Using digitally vignetting effect and burning the edges does not really apply this is a dark series. It's all about the control of the light that falls on your subject and enviroment.

Right now I see original bright photos which you digitally manipulated "to be dark".

Anyway, it's a good test attempt.

A certain retro styling of both the clothing, setting and props is great. It's nice to see something different. I agree its not really very dark, and the eyes look basically "unreal" so (personally) I feel detract from the images, which are otherwise sharp and use very well lit (not very dark)

If your purpose was to test a new location, then I think the retro look could totally work for a very Austin Powers inspired 60-70's shoot. Care to share where?

Thanks. This location is a old stuff store somewhere here in Bangkok.

Beautiful model

Nice effect

over sharpened of the eyes on some photos (like a lot of your photos) :thumbsd:

but overall, I see tremendous improvement since when you just joined! You are one of the few here in CS who showed great leap in terms of techniques, composition, and post processing.

Excellent series again. I love the outfit and location as well. I think we must really go bangkok and find u for these shoots!

Great work except the post processing is a little bit over done. There's such thing as too much to look like anime character and lose the real flavor of the persons unique features. Tone the post processing down a notch and it'll be better at least that's my thought.

the model got to work on her smile... is like frozen... one type only... gets boring after two shots

Pics are nicely taken but sharpening of the eyes seems to be quite a bit overdone especially for pics 1 to 4 where the iris seems to jump out of the eye...:)

Thanks for your comments. Please put the fault on me because I am the photogrpaher. If the model has only 1 smile, it is me to direct her with different expressions. The model only listens to what I asked her to do. :)

Nice model! great pics, but the forehead with the hairband pulling back the hair, revealing the baby hair is abit distracting~ but its not a big issue anyway~.
