Yes .. 8360 is a better choice than the 5500 and personally, it is value for money and moreover can upgrade the harddisk to higher capacity by buying any standard harddisk in the market. Best is that the hardware tool to remove the casing comes with the unit.

Fyi, I "zap" dvd movies into this unit to watch when flying budget airlines like Tiger n Jetstart. :)

Yes the 5500 can also upgrade the hard disk but it is just a photo viewer unlike the 8360 which is a multimedia viewer. :)

Does anyone know how much is zen vision w selling?

cant really confirm... but the usual price is $499... dont know how much at the IT show...

Btw, is any of those capable of displaying Nikon D300 RAW files?

Thanks.

hopefully today got new low price offer! :)

get the Espon model, it is more stable and the display is far much better.

$399 is for a complete unit with 120Gb harddisk installed. :)

by the way, where did you get this from for $399 with 120gb harddisk? Chiong there yesterday evening, $399 is without the harddisk as told by two sales staff. Harddisk add another $90.

I use the Digimate III and i damn regret...

Slow transfer speed, battery doesnt last and if you cant get it format to FAT 32, you cant use it.

It took me 12 months before i figure out...

Oh, btw, when you plunge into your notebook using USB, you need to use direct current or its not recognised by yr notebook/ desktop...

Hope this helps.

alamak if i know i buy from u.
it works fine for me.
the fat32 part is written in the sketchy manual (erm anyway I think if u use NTFS or mac format its not universally compat also. even CF cards are FAT32)
so this is not an issue for me.
transfer speed i think its USB 2.0 rate. nvr tried firewire so dunno the difference.

cos it has only one usb plug u nid to turn on the power so that the computer can sense it.
no nid DC jus the power button on the drive. I thought of using a cable with two usb plugs typical of usb HDD but scared I blow something. anyway the battery is being charged when connected so I dun think its an issue.

I dun have that much storage so the battery haven't died on me yet. during transfer but yah the puny battery doesn't look like it can last long.
the AC-DC convertor is universal current so i figured i can still use that while overseas back in hotel . no time to transfer while shooting outside anyway.

I dunno if can but why not output to RAW + JPG? space is not an issue if u shootg in raw already. the jpg is useful for preview on unsupported hardware plus in case the jpg is good enough u can del the raw

I got mine last year and the price was quoted during the 1st day of the show when i wanted to buy to a spare battery at the booth.

Think I saw the advert on Sat "The New Paper".

Even by including the cost of the hd, S$498 is a good price too as I paid much more. :(

heh u r welcome.
btw though there's one reason why u might not wanna output both.
that's if u need high FPS and taking multiple shots. writing both will slow down ur fps i presume.

Viewsonic has a better feature set, but Epson has a better resolution - what to do!!?

I think the strong points about the Epson is not the resolution but the colors. I think the colors rendering of the P3000 is one of the BEST I have seen. I have a 20" IMAC g5 (IPS panel) and a dell 2407-HC (both properly calibrated) and I think the small P3000 screen is better....
