Below are the test plans to be conducted for the Mini and Flex.
Objective:
To evaluate the frequency signals that will limit the transmition distance between the Mini and Flex using Canon EOS flashguns fixed onto the hotshoe.
Test Flow:
1) Mini will be fixed onto the camera's hotshoe with default settings and updated to the lastest firmware.
2) Flex will be fixed onto a lightstand with a flashgun (default settings and updated to the latest firmware.
3) Mini and Flex will be set to a same channel (Most probably Channel 1)
4) The Flex will be stationed onto at a point with a subject.
5) The Mini will be moved to the distance to be tested.
6) Each distance will be tested at an increment of 5m and shorten to 1m for precise range.
7) Starting distance will be 24m based on the table given by Rob using EX580II.
8) The images taken will be wirelessly transmitted to a laptop for evaluation.
Equipments:
1) 1 X Mini
2) 1 X Flex
3) 1 X lightstand
4) 1 X camera with wireless transmitter (Either 50D or 5DMK2)
5) 1 X EX580II
6) 1 X laptop
Test Condition:
This test is based on the normal usage situation.
The setup is a basic strobist setup.
Flashguns will be set to ETTL.
Camera settings manual.
Test Condition:
Most probably in a open area with less interferance from outside frequencies (wireless broadband etc)
Other testing will conisder if have time.
1) Trigger testing with PW Plus 2
2) Indoor test (Very soon)
3) Using other types of flashguns and strobes
4) Trigger with full manual settings
Remarks:
I got a PM from a bro who offered to help up in the testing.
