Sorry guys... BUT pls keep this thread clean with photos and comments only.

Djinn/napier,
Thanks for your info!....Do I need to book the local tour in advance(e.g few weeks bef) via website or just go there and join the tour on the spot? Anyway, I'm going alone, it's flexible enough for me to choose whatever tour I like and stay as long as I want(probably 2 weeks) but will only budget ard $1600 for this trip. I'm also struggling in choosing one of the following tour:
1) Feng Huang village + JiangJiaZie
2) Yading + DaoChen + ShangGeLiLa + LuGouHu
3) JiuZaiGou

Pls advise whether the time & budget is sufficient for the above tour and which tour is the best?

bascially...u must look at the map...where are the location...dun think u can go all in one trip...
options 1- dunno where is this place...but if you are going chengdu...there are other better place to go.
options 2- this is a good choice...I would love to go here...but most of this places is nearer to yunnan. suggest u get a ticket fly to cheng du than travel down south to these places...and after lu gu hu...go back to li jiang(anyway...from shanggelila to luguhu...u will have to pass by li jiang) and fly back to sing from kun ming....cheng du and kunming both got silk air. maybe can break the fly..must check with them.

options 3- excellent choice....I would love to go back for a second time. but u have 2 weeks...too long just to visits JZG and huang long...u will need abt 5-6days max....maybe can add in er mei shan....4 gu niang shan...le shan big buddha....u can start research in singapore..

but all in all...1600..more than enough for 1 option..too little for 2 options. chengdu to JZG 5days abt SGD500-600 can get liao...depends u wanna double air..or 1air+1 coaches...

No more China photos ?
Maybe China's not very popular as a tourist destination any more. :(
Anyway, here's some just to revive this thread....

The last one not really a landscape photo, but quite an interesting sight.

So many lovely photos here, simply fantastic! Hope some of these places can remain the way they are, but sadly it will be difficult.

Here's mine, Xian Nai Ri at Yading.

LAZyNPL, can pop some questions and comments on your photos here?

Sure can... buddy; I just don't want this thread to turn completely into a discussion thread
Q&C are always welcome.

karakuru lake is nice. apart from the tents, the foreground draws special texture to the picture. the handling of cold hues are also well done for the series in that post. but the 2nd post seems to pale out the colors too much and a little too contrasty. the mountain range in brown however appears to have a soft diffuse. what did you apply in pp for the second post?

if you have a lot of great photos in that region (which you have :) ), should consider starting a thread of your own and post some best over here.

Are you referring to the image tittle "Dryland<Pamir Highland<Xinjiang"?
This digital image has a lot lower contrast originally, as you can see the low-hung clouds all over the horizon. I delibrately increase the contrast to dramatize the shades of shadows and outlines of peaks. The soft diffuse effect is probably the result of noise-reduction in PP.
;p

These are not exactly landscape. These were take at Qingcheng Rear Mountain (青城后山) during their May Day celebration.

The sun sets near a campsite in Yushu, west China's Qinghai province.

oeyvind... very daring technique but i absolutely love the picture, displaying such grandeur with superb lightings focusing on just the important bits with the sun seemingly providing life to the campsite.

A pair of pictures from around Jiu Zhai Gou...

You need to host your picture with some server first .... like flickr.
Then just insert image link over to the thread.

Hope this helps

I am simply blown away by all the landscape shots. I'll be making a trip next Sunday (9th Sept) for a week and I'll be going to the following places: SG -> Kunming -> Dali -> Lijiang -> Shangri-la -> Kunming -> SG.

Really can't wait! :)

Hope you guys don't mind me asking a question: Did you travel to China with a tripod? Is a monopod sufficient?

Gorgeous photography everyone!
