pls bring back buyers/sellers rating system

just encountered an insincere and irresponsible seller, mr lee (hp: 98122988) on this thread http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=718086
who, after making arrangements to meet up at his place, blk 245 serangoon ave 2, this afternoon, did not even bother to answer any calls/sms after flying aeroplane.

i'm other CSers have similar horror stories to tell.

at least with a rating system, other CSers can be warned to stay clear of such ppl in the future.

they are taking advantage of CS, and the generosity of CS admin and mods in letting them make use of B&S freely, while they abuse the system and waste CSers' time.

Let's have the ratings system back, any CSer who amasses too many negative ratings should incur infractions, and if they don't improve, deregistration. (just a suggestion)

i agree fully on bringing back the rating system. I have just been played out few minutes ago. I made an appointment with a seller last night to meet him at 7pm today at Khatib to view a lens. I stay in Kallang. On my way down, at 6.30pm, I received an sms saying the lens is sold. So I had the joy of travelling to Khatib from Kallang for nothing but fun and back again. A very unpleasant experience for a newbie like me.

fully agree. reliability and integrity should be recognised in CS, and vice versa.

yea. its something that i feel will be good to uphold. because if i'm going to lets say... sell my equipments, i would like my buyer to be a reliable one too, so that i know i wont have time wasted etc. also, newcomers can also have a good gauge on buying equipments from reliable sellers. overall lesser time wasted, lesser airplanes, lesser cheating incidents too

Yes I agree with this.

Just this afternoon, I make a deal with a seller via SMS, the seller want to seal the deal by today, but I can't meet him today because I'm working until late night, so we agree to seal the deal tomorrow.

But suddenly a few hours later, he SMS me "camera sold. sorry".
WTF???

And I already got this same experience before, from 2 different seller.

I think it would be great if there's a seller-buyer feedback that everyone can see from each member.
Let say if someone create a thread under B&S, we can see all the feedback from previous transactions/threads.

The example given by TS is for a New Member selling an item in B&S. A rating system or feedback system wouldn't help in this case. If he is actually an old "offender" with a new login ID, you wouldn't be able to know that or see his previous history.

It would help to a certain extent for his subsequent sales. For the first sales, its up to the buyer to give any benefit of the doubt.

Are you talking about clone accounts? That in itself is a breach of rules.

If you mean deregistered members creating a new account, then its the first scenario you gave.

this has been asked before. i believe the Admins' response was that the iTrader system (good as it was) strained the server resources so much so that it created a lot of bugs and crashes. bearing in mind that our servers had just gone through a catastrophic hardware and database failure not too long ago, i think Admins will be hesitant to bring it back.
