finally i got purple :bsmilie:
K20D vt125

Flowerpot, no pp ah? Flashed? Think no need right especially it's f2.5! And of course, just don't tell me it's the work of a VT125 man... (cos' i really have no more in my pocket)

I'd preferred a frontal shot though ... but lovely nevertheless!

shot this with voigtlander macro 125. First owned by creampuff then to Fengwei and now in my good hand.:bsmilie:

got some pp la... but i try to preserve as much original as possible...cant remember off my mind the camera settings cos i have a few shots without flash...but i use off camera flash to minimize the harsh highlights...got frontal shots but din turn out as i expected, as u know la, what u see on the cam LCD is different from what u see on the sceen. This i attribute to lack of experience ba...

unfortunately modern photography dictates the use of pp :(... u can be a good photograher but if u dun excel in pp, ur work dun stand out... maybe now its still 70-80% photo skill and 20-30% pp skill, but next 5 years with the advancement of camera technology, u probably no need to think, just any how press shutter only, and pp the photo till u get it right...

finally u post it here...as mention in pentaxforums, Bernard will go crazy if he sees the VT shot...:bsmilie: The VT really shows its worth and prove its cult status...

So sharp! I like the first one! Give a very gentle kind of feel..

The last photo is interesting...is tat how bird's tongue is like?

Thanks :) The last one was a lucky shot I guess. I had several shots of the bird while it opened up its mouth, like a yawn, and this one was the most interesting one

Nice capture and nice bokeh also fengwei. Especially like this two.:) Loke always tell me not to worry shooting with this lens wide open.:bsmilie:

Thanks Des.

I've been using the lens (and the FA*300/4.5) wide open most time. It's a slow lens, would be even slower if I stop down. Unless I take photos like these (taken at F8):

And this one was taken at F6.3:

Nice captures, Des. Your birds shots are getting better each time you go out shooting :)

1ST DES, TWO BIRDIES SHOTS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Here are several more birds photos from the Jurong Bird Park taken two days ago:

All taken by K20D+F*300/4.5 wide open.

sharp and nice. I went once with my tokina 80-200 atx, but was not that sharp.

Test snapshot with an on-loan Sigma 10-20. Fun lens to have! (And shooting buildings for fun is more exciting than shooting a ballroom for work..)

Thanks le petit prince. Probably around 2.5 to 3m most of the times?

What..! Is this at the birdpark or? I saw a yellow bird a few days back.. perched pretty on a really tall tree at least 10m on the other side of the road. And all I had was my 21mm. Darn.

No, it's at the Singapore Botanic Garden. They are used to people's present so it's easier to shoot them compared to elsewhere.:)

Reaching out...

the decommissioned clock tower of iHUB in Jurong

Note: there was some dusts on the sensor when i stopped down the lens as evidenced from this shot. got it cleansed by our ever friendly Kevin of Shriro yesterday. as for the flare, should had used a lens hood
