I tried using raw a few times but the images came out not in sharp focus. Using the sharpening tool only created artefects and does not actually make the sharper. Any tips on this ?

Bro, practically most of my images are shot on...... jpeg.
Like any digital image, no matter from what camera or make, one has to do some basic post processing like a minor levels or curves adjustment or a touch of sharpening. Practically all of my images have very basic PP done that's done in a couple of seconds. I don't like to waste time tweaking my images too much. Most important is to get in-camera exposure spot on first.

Yeah I'm using Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop CS2. Sadly haven't upgraded to CS3 yet...
I strongly recommend Lightroom to everyone. First and foremost, it is fantastic as a photo database to organize our growing collection of digital images. Secondly, it has at it's core the Photoshop engine, so it can accomplish a lot on it's own and very quickly too, though Photoshop still has the edge in some areas.

Of course I can't reveal my methods... :bsmilie: just that I pay close attention to the histogram to base my adjustments. :angel:

I have a jackrascal too. Personally I find that their IQ level are pretty high. Need a lot of patience with them.
