What I know is; you will only get 6 months warranty after converting to international warranty. Maybe Pentax too....better find out.

Ah, I'm going overseas la, that's why.

University. If it's 6 months only then no point, if there's any problem I just hold onto the spoilt lens until next summer.

Are you speculating or is this a fact? I don't know where you got your info about 6 months warranty after conversion to international warranty.

My K100D was from Australia and I got the same 1 year international warranty as would a normal set with a 1 year local warranty. It is the same for Pentax USA http://www.pentaximaging.com/customer_care/pentax_service/warranty_information/

Care to explain why it shouldn't be the case here? :think:

Yes only the authorised agents can do the international warranty conversion, so Shriro are the people to go to for local warrantied sets. So long as within the 1 year period, it should be OK. There shouldn't be any fees, at least I didn't need to pay. As my camera was from Down Under, I registered my camera online with CR Kennedy, the Aussie agents. Then asked for international warranty cert and got it a little while later. Procedure might vary with different agents/dealers but I doubt it.

The second picture reminds me of the one I used to walk through in Macpherson road.
It even has the excrement disposal opening from back in the old days!

thanks.... happened to pass by this flat at commonwealth area... nowaday most of those new HDB flat are 40 storey one.. and these one got this centre lobang. when you look up, its waahhh... "into warp speed". haaa..

yeah... these one taken at katong area, just one of the back alley. tiong bahru also have some really nice back alley. I walked by, thought it looks not bad. So took up my camera from my bag, snap and go in less than a minute. Camera no SR, 1/13sec f/3.2 wide open, quite please with it when i view on computer.

mmm..why would you switch off SR in such low light shots? I thought it should be default on unless you have a tripod? Also be careful man...otherwise our men in blue wondering why a guy is carrying a camera in a dark alley...;p

Many years ago, I bought a DC for a friend from UK (can't remember C or N), convert to international warranty, and left only 6 months.
I don't know about Pentax, that's why need to find out.

BTW did you manage to get your Hoya R72 IR filter? I just got mine at T K Photo, last piece in 52mm. They also had 2 sets of FA 50mm f1.4. So whoever looking for a 50mm with local warranty can get it there.

No, I haven't got chance to go and buy the IR filter yet. Too bad TK doesn't have it instock anymore I'll look elsewhere then. Don't really have much time shooting IRs lately anyway...
