I am a newbie here and intend to get my first dslr. The pentax k20d and k10d are on my top list. My concern is which lens should I get? The lens should cover the following criteria:

1. The lens should be in one piece which can take close shots, to wide angle to faraway shot.
2. Light and quality lens to cover the above all purpose scenarios.
3. How much this lens cost? Does the k20d and k10d come with their kit lens?
4. Local prices for the lens and with or without body>?

Please advisse. Thanks

Sounds like the Sigma 1770 would work well for your needs And I agree, better ask this kind of Qs somewhere else instead of here ...

You should show these photos to those CN guys who are using big guns like 85/1.2 or 1.4, and be sure to show them the little pancakes too

Yup even during the shoot those who saw it was impress with the pancakes, because of its size. The 18 others in the photoshoot are either using C or N. I was the only Pentaxian there

Yup even during the shoot those who saw it was impress with the pancakes, because of its size. The 18 others in the photoshoot are either using C or N. I was the only Pentaxian there

incidentally also one reason why i chose pentax initially, but then i realise that most of the pancake lenses are relatively too long for the wide scenes i like, and no current interest in people photography, maybe next time :bsmilie:

There's a DA 15 limited on the roadmap...

I understand what you mean, when I got the DA 70mm 2 months ago I also dunno what to do with it since its too long for most shots. Now thinking if I wanna get the DA 21 to complete the collection :think: Anyway, here are the rest of the model shots, thanks.

:think: 70mm too long...really ah... mine is longer or i meant most of my shots are using longer lens :bsmilie: anyway DA21mm is pretty attractive(my resistance still strong :bsmilie...the angle for close up portraits would be insteresting...
