You mean with a reverse macro adapter that allows you to screw the two 50mm together using their front screw threads, facing each other? That will give you 1:1 macro, with a working distance of around 4-5cm

I was thinking more of a rubber band approach. :bsmilie:
Still, that's pretty close. I was thinking of a 10-15 cm working distance.

Anyway, a little something on a very cloudy morning.

This place is only 2 hour drive from Shanghai.
I like this place better that the other water town because it is much more local and quiet.
Actually Mission Impossible 3 film here for some of its scenes.

interesting shots. can share the technique?

These were actually shot during a workshop (can see the details in the "Workshops, tutorials and classes" subforum, I think it's pretty easy to guess which one ;)). So they were done in a studio setting with proper studio lighting equipment.

The first was done with the main light placed behind the subject and a large diffuser in between them as the background, the subject placed on a mirror, and a fill light directly in front.

The second was done using a large piece of blue paper as a continuous backdrop, with only one light from the right, with the spread limited using a barn door.

I must say, with studio lighting equipment properly set up, it can really make a difference to how the pictures turn out! The only PP needed was to remove a line where the edge of the table was in the first picture. My DIY pictures are never this nice... or I guess I just don't know how to DIY correctly yet.

Haha... :bsmilie: I like your clones. This was done with off-camera flash? The light looks very directional and the background's all dark.

key light too small and too strong... strobe angle slightly further from camera better...
