without the 10 stop filter exposure time would be about 1/20 seconds. the water would be choppy, and the scene would be so full of details from the waves that it would be different. :)

the filter is not graduated, in fact it introduces a lot of vignetting but nothing to be done about it.. also cannot stack filters. :)

I faced with the same issue at 6pm (arnd Labrador), and I just couldn't get the water to look dead calm (silky water and all) because it's way too bright!

ND-X, here I come!

Hi Fenzi, you might want to clean your sensor as can see the dust spots on your pic.;)

Thanks.
Can we do it ourselves or must send to camera shop?

It's easy, on your camera, go menu, set up, sensor cleaning, mirror up, remove the lens and get a rocket blower to give a flew blow.

You're doing very well if you've only just started photography as a hobby :) I quite like this one on top, has a nice feel to it.

Pictures are slightly tweaked on Photoshop.

After the trip to sentosa, i've realised that its not easy to replicate those wonderful images that i've seen here...

Much to learn.

You can also try the multi-exposure mode on the K10/20D. Stop down to get atleast a 1sec exposure and take 9 frames. Works reasonably well to give flatness to water.

It's always great to see another manual user. :)
Nice work with the focusing and DOF. It's all about practice and patience.
