Is this the Sigma 30mm F1.4, Pentax Mount? Would have been educational, if additonal data such as Camera Type, ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed had been included.:)

Yes, that is the lens. It's a pity Picasa web strips the exif data when you hotlink to the images there. But I still find that Picasa suits my webhosting needs best. Maybe I'll write in to ask them to include the feature, see what they say...

Here're the exif for these two photos. :)

Hi istDeS,

Busselton Jetty is 3 hours drive from Perth city centre, downsouth along the Western coast.

Yeah, it serves good food! Some locals will bring their food outside and sit in their armchairs and face the ocean. Enjoy the evening breeze. Nice place!

Thanks LancerEX. I was refering to the title, a bit misleading at it didn't show the jetty.;):D

Nice composition and texture. You sure love boosting the contrast. That and the 300 preset. :bsmilie: (It's my favourite preset too)

I went there twice (once in the evening and the second time in the morning) ... the sunset was very nice as the weather was cooling.

Bro, I didn't use the 300 preset here ler... this one is a sepia warm II preset (for the portraiture).

Actually, I use more of the clarity instead of the contrast.. but I did use the medium contrast, and added a layer in GIMP to help get a more contrasty image. But that's me, I guess lots of pple prefer it softer for a portraiture? :D

I actually think the 1st picture is a over done. Shd not have tried to get too much clarity, and keep the sky softer ... so the image doesn't look so faked? :( I should have also waited longer for the cruise ship to move more over to the right and see it whole without the lamppost 'splitting' it into half. But was concern that the guy may just go back to his seat ... at least this pose, I know what I wanted to project - "it really feels like he hope that he's on the ship pulling jackpots!" kekeke...

bro, whats the diff between using a normal exposure metering and using a 10-stop filter with such long exposure. is the filter graduated as the sky still appeared overblown?

nice compo

without the 10 stop filter exposure time would be about 1/20 seconds. the water would be choppy, and the scene would be so full of details from the waves that it would be different. :)

the filter is not graduated, in fact it introduces a lot of vignetting but nothing to be done about it.. also cannot stack filters. :)

Thats what we did at labrador park. although you were not there, ppl were mentioning about the nightmare's feel :bsmilie:!

"set 30s exposure to get the nightmarish feel of the rock!" i did but then i didnt get close enough cos didnt want to leave marks on the silky sand!! but overall i still like the feel of the sunset photographs.

Thanks for sharing!
