Fengwei, wow, beautiful bird pictures you got there. You must be very close to the birds or is the 300mm long enough for you? I am curious whether you were using a tripod or is the SR good enough to take those handheld?

Thanks Tao :) Yes, I was quite close too the birds, but still I need a 300mm lens for these. All photos were taken handheld in jpg.

Marvellous birds of Singapore, fengwei. It strikes me that I haven't really seen the smaller ones up close before.. cute :)

E500, good show of the colors and tones there ;p

istDes, is that a pitcher plant? Never thought it to be so tiny. Nice and simple picture

It's super to see everyone enjoying their K10D!

Guess where this is from... 'tis a familiar place:

Thanks Hybrid. :) Those are orchids not pitcher plants.

Thanks :) I guess it'd strike you even more if you take some super close macros w/ the K10D ;)

...

What's that place you posted here? Looks very interesting...

Handheld at 320mm 1/60s? That's pretty good I'd say.

Haven't been there to the Zoo for quite a while, might make a trip there when the weather gets better...

nah, my skills still not good enough to handheld 320mm 1/60s. :D do it with the aid of a monopod.

Yes better wait for the weather to get better. The rain come and goes so will have to keep looking and going under shelter.

I would very much like to learn how the rest here shot their Garden Fests in their unique ways! My photos didn't turn out so well, so I had to crop. Any tips? :sweatsm:

Hybrid, probably you can show us some of your "didn't turn out so well photos" then some of the pros here can give you some pointers. Here are my belated takes from the SG Garden Festival.

All taken with the K10D + DA 16-45 F4.
