Please advise, my Leica appears to need some servicing

Chiif,

Guess what? The "leakage" problem happened again on my M6 after 2 rolls of film. It is really strange that the problem did not resurface immediately after those strips of sponge were placed near the "back door" of the camera body. Looks like you are right after all. A check today by someone trained in Leica cameras showed that it was indeed the shutter curtain not closing in a uniform manner.

Looks like buying an old camera can be tricky business, because you need to shoot some film to be able to tell whether everything is working well.

Sorry to hear this Bro. I had the same problem..After I sended the camera to Nick from Cam x, the problem fixed..

The sad thing is.. The repair guys never tested these cameras.. We after paid for their service end up testing them, I often ask myself why is this so.

Dear fellow leica shooters

May I know where are the places in Singapore we get our leica CLA'ed? Or should we send it abroad to do?

You can send it to the pre-owned camera shops in Peninsula, or to send it to Schmidt Singapore which will in turn send it to Germany.
