PL 25 f/1.4 vs Oly 25 f/1.8

I have a friend who has a Type 109, he commented the build is better than LX100. Some have said, dunno true or not, Leica rebadged Panny has different lens coating as well.

Yeap to both, hence I guess why quite a few willing to spend the extra this time round.

One big question I need to find an answer to is that while on the whole the Raws are supposed to be the same but sensor hardware can be the same but they may be tweaked differently according to manufacturer and was this tweaked also.

*___* I'm guilty of that , bro Anson caught me. Had decided that yes - exactly that the Leica tweaked JPEG colors , extra 2 year warranty , red dot , Light Room was worth the extra few hundred when choosing my Type 109 over the LX100.

Bro, there is no "right & wrong" in choosing either camera. Both are excellent cameras and I am sure the Leica would yield better resales value compare to the Panasonic when you intend to upgrade later. ;)

Interesting... The 25/1.4 is fairly quiet on my GH3 while carrying, even shaking it on purpose. I do find the focusing noise louder, compared to other m43 lenses.

Thanks Bro. the "rattlesnake" does happens on both my Panny G6 & Oly EM5. Speaking of large aperture lensfoundes I don't recall the 42.5 F1.2 having similar issue, guess Panny have found a solution for that. :D

The rattlesnake issue seems to be confined to the EM5 (and before) and 25/1.4. Something to look out for is also banding at high ISO.

I've the 42.5/1.2 and use it on the EM1 , no snake sounds :)

True, that's just that blogger's attempt to find an explanation for it, I suppose. Yeah, I've tried a friend's nocticron, super silent!

Was it shot in indoor lighting? Could be the flickering of the lights?

Great to hear that. The 42.5/1.2 indeed create a wonderful DoF bokeh and great color reproduction. I have to make do with my Manual DIY solution -> http://olympusphere.com/phc/theme/photo/cont_cd/101315/p/o/spr/SGP

Bro, is there no fix for the rattlesnake sound?

Why not get a mongoose.......

我还是看不懂。 :(

Isn't the banding only for the Panasonic 20mm? Don't think it happens for the 25mm.

PL 25 f/1.4 vs Oly 25 f/1.8

which will u get? for indoor shooting for young kids.
my 45 f/18 is too closeup at times.

understand from reviews that the PL 25 gives quite significant chromatic aberration and the olympus body doesn't correct for it.
the last i tested it at a shop, the aperture blade noise was quite obvious also. felt like a faulty set.

and also, will there be any color issues with fitting a panasonic lens on an olympus body?

Appreciate your advice. Thanks.
