I totally agree!!! U can get modern lenses on good market prices. Legacy lenses is another story. Especially Leica & Zeiss. Haha. Glad u guys r happily shooting wif Leica. Cheers.

Thanks bro :-) once a while you'll came across those folks just wanted to free up thier dry cabinet and sell thier stuffs at a good price, for the cron-r 35 i really regretted not buying it the price was awesome...

About the NEX-7 and Leica Glass: Last year I was at HK disney land same Lion show I was using my A77 with Minolta 50 f1.4 I have almost the same shots comparing it with my NEX7 and Cron 90 its was really far I was surprise the sharpness of that combo and some more I was shooting JPEG my A77 was RAW... After my HK trip I have a new found respect with my NEX-7 even with the KIT lens still renders nice image :-) the best part no back pain even I have few lenses with me on that trip like, Sigma 19, SEL1855, Jupiter-3 and Cron-90 and later the SEL35/1.8 still light for me :-)

So you will need to add the R 14f2.8, 19f2.8, 28f2.8, 50f2/50f1.4, 80f1.4 (someone selling one at 2.2k at BnS) to your collection. When I was playing with the 28f2.8 E55 ver., the 35f2 cron was about the same price at about SGD1.2-1.3k. Is it much higher now? I suppose you are getting ready for the NEX FF.

Probably just the 19mm Elmarit and the 90mm Summicron. Most of the 35's I've seen were higher than the range you mentioned, but I managed to find it lower.

I'm content to shoot NEX-7 and 5N until there's something that better suits me (and my budget). R glass can be adapted without the nodal point issues that plague M-mount wides, and it leaves me with the potential for other body options.

FF is not a dangling carrot for me. Having shot FF on both Nikon and Sony, I prefer APS-C for making better use of my macro and long glass. For normal and wide, I can happily make do with either FF or APS-C.

19mm is another exp lens, I am dreaming of Cron-r 35 and Elmarit-r 180 (non-APO) I should be ok from there hehe

Yesterday was my first real outing with my 35mm cron-r (E48 version w/10-blade diaphragm) and it's like alchemy with the NEX-7. I A-B'ed it with the CV 35mm; and technically the CV is a better lens, sharper in the corners at all comparable apertures. There is just a smidgen of difference in how the cron delineates shades within colors, and this is what I need when I shoot.

The older 19 isn't too ex, just damn big and heavy, especially with the hood. The newer one is out of my league and doesn't have the "look" of the older one. I'm still looking at other options at that FL. The wide M-mount glass is much better for keeping lines straight. But PP'ing the magenta cast--even with LR's DNG Flat Field Correction--sucks out some details and alters the image texture at the edges.

Lotsa folks say the 180mm Elmarit-R's IQ is close to that of the APO, just that you have to PP out some CA in the OOF areas. And I much prefer the way the NON-APO 90mm cron renders compared to the APO version.

It's all the kind of glass that makes me want to get out and look for stuff to shoot with it.

Let see if I could get my hand on 180 elmarit-r I dont shoot Macro mainly portraits and street candids so I guess I wont be needing the APO version. For the cron 35 let see as this is much more expensive than the elamrit-r 180.

Yup, several.

No magenta cast, if that's what you're wondering.

Seems that the folks running NEX-7's firmware v.1.01 don't get the magenta cast. I did, however, see one review with photos (shot against a white wall) showing magenta cast, with the reviewer claiming he was running fw v.1.01. Oh, man, that's a real showstopper for pro photogs who make their living shooting white walls! ;)

I shot the lens straight up to an overcast sky, which is where the problem was most obvious on my m-mount ultrawides, and I could only see the faintest trace of magenta at the extreme edges, discernible only at 100% magnification.

Being a zoom, it doesn't have the biting sharpness and contrast of the CV ultrawides; but it's highly PP'able and easily good enough for printing fairly big. Sony further sweetened it by giving it sharp corners at the widest apertures and with the very effective OSS. I see it as being every bit as good as Nikon's 16-35mm VR--but at 2/3 the price, 1/2 the size, and 1/3 the weight.
