Pictures from NEX 7, Thread II

The spherical aberration reference was about the "glow" thing mentioned earlier in the thread. The photo is cropped at about 45% and IIRC, I was probably around 10 meters from the bulbul. 100% magnification is much more detailed, but too large to post here. Both the 100 and 180 are amazing--consistent contrast and sharpness across the frame from f/2.8 to f/11.

Hope I can afford one of these sometime soon. I was refering to CA which I see most of the time in all my bird photos when I used my cheapo lenses.

me too bro been eyeing this Elmarit-R 180 APO but I will need half of my lenses just to get the lens and another half for the 2x APO Extender :-(

This male Asian Koel is actually a very beautiful bird up close. I love the shinny shades of blue and turquoise especially on the neck, back and wings. Many thanks bro.

I like his sky a lot better than mine . . .

NEX-7 with 35mm Summicron-R (yeah, the CV 35mm II will soon be making an appearance in B&S) . . .

Gotta see what this thang can do at MFD . . . cropped at about 50% . . .

You got the great deal on the 90mm, though.

I grabbed the 35 within an hour or two after it first showed up in B&H's used section. I'll probably eventually go completely R-mount with my glass. More modern stuff might have better coatings, better corner sharpness, better this or that; but I love the way this glass renders, especially on the NEX-7.
