true i must agree initially I always thinks it's a hype why this brand so exp and so famous now I know why... but still R-Mount is the Leica bang for your bucks just that it's heavy lolz this one is close to 600grams after a while you can feel your arms starts to burn. Will post few more shots from this 1977 cron

Only those willing to carry such heavy lens around would like the R-Mount. Unless like you mentioned the M-Mount Leica price will increase. Maybe it will specially with Canon-M dunno if it is compatible with M-Lenses out there I have not checked the Canon-M specs yet (not interested looks like GF3 hehe for ladies this will appeal)

R Telephotos are really heavy... Haha... For standard angle lenses, the weight difference is not so much as compared to the M lenses... I will keep M as standard focal lengths and some Rs for telephotos. Only lacking the new M body. Haha

The most sought-after one, the 280mm f/4 APO, isn't too bad at around 1.9kg. The faster sibling is a beast, though, at almost 3kg, certainly not for hand-holding.

But, comparatively, R glass isn't all that heavy. For example, the NEX-7 with the 180mm APO and 2X APO all combined weigh roughly the same as the Nikon 300mm f/4 AF-S lens alone; and substantially lighter than the Sony 70-400G (which is a superb lens for people who don't mind the feeling of lugging around a bazooka).

Yeah. Still, unless u r really into telephotos, most ppl will stick to lighter glasses if they r holding to a much lighter body.

One reason tat compels me not to get d cv 35-1.2 asph 2 instead. I prefer my setup as light as possible so can I use it more often. Cheers.
