Another one from the "just not pro enough" marvel paired with a "just not AF enough" manual lens . . .

Unavoidably backlit, but proof that motion shots can be done with MF . . .

Great photo. Is this shot also with the Pentax A 300f4? I am searching for this lens for quite sometime.

Yes, that's the Pentax. They turn up on ebay from time to time, but not always in great condition.

Kipon, metabones, novoflex etc

Personal experience is that for most SLR-to-Nex adapters, those eBay ones work fine. But for those that has moving parts to adjust aperture like Contax G, or helicoids for M mount, better to get the established brands suggested above, as the cheap ones have varying levels of quality.

The Contax G adapter I have on my 90mm adjusts focus, not aperture.

oops sorry, my bad. I mean adjust focus.. .Contax G lens already has Aperture adjustment ring...

btw, I'm using Metabones.. quite good.. though I heard that Fotodiox and Novoflex are pretty good too...

I got mine from evilbay. Tried finding it locally but to no avail. Great stuff for M-mount lens as it reduces the MFD by a lot. Can also use with LTM lenses with a LTM to M mount adapter ring attached.

Then Evilbay it is... Tks

A few more from the "just not pro enough" NEX-7, paired with one of those cheap-ass "R" lenses with the bad bokeh and the "can't shoot action/wildlife" manual focus:

First one at f/8, last two at f/5.6 . . .

on that note... any sempai here are goin to organize an outing? :) for all NEX-7 shooters :p

tis newbie wooooooooooooo would love to learn from all the sempai here :D

Although the NEX-7's EVF makes it possible to "see" through a stopped-down lens, it can still be difficult to judge the midpoint of the plane of focus, something that's more easily done when auto-aperture is available. Thankfully my cheap-ass "R" lens with the bad bokeh has a good enough T-stop to let me get lucky once in a while. Getting natural light at a favorable angle was like icing on the cake here...

This is only at 1:3, but cropped close to 100% with very minimal PP.
