Going to get more interesting here when I pick up the 35mm F1.2 VII Voigtlander Nokton next week ;) Not to mention a 1953 Nikon 85mm F2 in Leica mount (the lens that put Nikon on the International map), a Nickel 1932 50mm F3.5 Leica Elmar (the very first interchangeable lens made that has led to current DSLRs and ILC's) ......... Ooooo and if I'm lucky, A Leica 1954 Summicron F2 and 1933 Hektor 73mm F1.9 ;)

I assume our friend knows of the NEX's ability to be paired with Leica glass and more importantly, vintage pieces? Been using my Nikon glass on the NEX but it's so damned heavy! Rangefinder glass is PERFECT!

You can consider some Olympus slr lenses
They were build relatively smaller compared to other slr lenses during that time

One benefit I see aside from the smaller size is also closer mfd

Zeiss 24mm Purple fringing quite a lot....

YEah... getting that too with the Zeiss... and also from my Voigtlander 35mm F1.2 V2 from f1.2- F2.8.... Luckily, I either shoot raw or jpeg in High contrast B&W where it does not matter much. Still quite annoying though

yes, purple fringe with 35 1.2 v2 quite abit... but still one helluva lens with nex 7 :P

NEX 7 owners, what do you think of this grip?

NEX-7 grip - FM Forums

Hmmm I have mixed feelings .. While it does improves the grip, it also affects the balance of the camera and makes it bigger . Don't think i will need it Unless I am mounting long and heavy lens

long and heavy lens hmm.. why that?

I was trying to imagine situations where additional grip would be useful. Like the 135 1.8 and the 70-200m 2.8 hah, but to use those lenses on the 7 would be rare

A couple of shots from the NEX with a (Nikon F-mount) Tokina 10-17 Fisheye (at 10/11mm) using a Novoflex adapter at perhaps F9/10. Shot in Halong Bay yesterday. The shot of the inside of the cave was cropped slightly on the bottom and a tiny bit on the top for a more panoramic look. 24mpix shot cropped down to 19.5.

I was lucky enough to catch a break from the non-stop flow of tourists and just have one single guy in pink (on the right) standing still throughout the 10 second exposure to give you a size reference of just how massive the caves are!

hmm i've used the 70-400 on the NEX7 and basically it was fine. but of course, i had a monopod attached to the 70-400

Nice cat shot. Looks very detailed. Straight from cam without sharpening?
