Pictures from Nex-5N

Have not posted for a long time. Just shot a ton load of my niece's wedding with the 5N + HVL20 + 3 manual lenses, Nikkor ais 28f2.8, 50f1.2 and CV 58f1.4 over the weekend. Using the HVL20 with home made bounce card on 5N was quite satisfying.

Here is an example, shot with the Nikkor ais 50f1.2 at f2, ISO 100, max sync speed of 160.

i really dunno what to say about the 18-55mm kit lens..
sometimes the shots are very soft even in the center..

yet sometimes it delivers decent shots like these..

Yea..its kinda strange.. Sometimes in good light..my kit lens 18-55 is performing almost very close on par with the 2470Z (mounted with La-ea2 on the Nex5)

Not sure if its me that cant tell the differences or there is just nothing more to be shown..

Glad that I'm not the only one feeling this way..

heh..frankly speaking sometimes i have doubt whether i got a not so sharp lens..(becos IQ is not really very big differences IMO) Everyone saying lens could not resolve sensor..Wonder if there is a case such that Sensor cannot resolve the lens.

Na..Since its working fine..no front/back focusing issues..i guess ill just trust Zeiss. Maybe its just me..my eyes.

OT: Right now...I just cant wait for the new FF to be release so i can finally "use" it properly.

I am just guessing, it could be due to the autofocus accuracy;

if it's spot on, then very good results, otherwise it's soft in the centre

Possibly. Try using DMF mode wif MF assist to zoom in n adjust d focus sharpness.

I do that most of the time..
Could be due to AF accuracy like mentioned earlier..

But Sigma and SEL50mm no problems..

That's what got me confused why the kit lens performs inconsistently..

But I really enjoy using DMF..
Very helpful when recomposing..

Totally agree. Been using DMF wif focus peaking n MF assist on my sigma n Zeiss.

I love the kit lens, its super sharp, enough to keep me from buying the 50mm. Just dont use it at 18-22mm coz the distortion is so bad.

play around with NEX5N + kit lens
JPEG..ooc...

love this small cam..hehehe
