pics of tokina 11-16 mm in action at f/2.8?

damm >.< now poisoned to get this lens hehe >.< more so than its older brother the 12-24

Here's my contribution
Wide open at f2.8, 1/20sec @ 11mm, iso 200

All i can say is this is a fantastic lens! tack sharp even at wide open.

Damned, this is the last straw! I'm going to get it tomorrow, before heading out for Brussels next week!

I used this lens in France for this shot. (f/13 13mm iso200)

When I used this lens at f/2.8 i noticed that the bokeh in the bg was really harsh. probably cause this lens wasnt really meant to be used that way.. anyways im trying out this lens at landscape photograhpy in europe and so far at small apertures i think this lens is great for the price.

a quick question for 11-16 owners, do u find it a lil inconvenient?

regarding tokina’s “clutch” mechanism - push the focus barrel forward a few millimeters and it’s AF. pull it back again, and it’s MF.
unlike nikkor lens whereby there's a switch to toggle btw AF and MF

personally I do not like it for when those occasions when you wanna auto-focus, then switch to manual to fix focus..? Have to be careful not to rotate when push-pull..
Much easier to flick a switch.

how about Tianya filters?

I believe even the best of slim filters have this problem, perhaps to a lesser degree.
And sometimes it doesnt take much effort to correct it in post.

But pls dont just take my word for it, got to do your own research. There is simply too many filters out there to make a sweeping comment.:)

seem that u and i share the same concern.
all my lenses are all nikkor so pretty much used to the MF/MA switch on the lens, am a bit apprehensive abt the clutch mechanism on the focus barrel which is making me hold back the purchase.

Did I mention I LOVE this lens?..:bsmilie:
Well I do not use that as often though, just gotta be careful when/if doing so..

I don't have an issue with the clutch mechanism. I think it's just as intuitive as a switch and it's not that flimsy.

Guys, i'm really torn between this or the sigma 10-20mm...its going to be my first UWA lens. Main purpose is to take scenery, landscape tgt with people. Any good advices?

i just sold my tok 12-24 and now i'm thinking of getting the 11-16. I did consider the Sigma but based from reviews and the majority, most are using the tokina when it comes to UWA.
